WOYWW...

It's been another busy week for me with sewing thankfully and our little wounded soldier had his arm x-rayed on Monday and it appears to be healing well.  He's pretty frustrated with not being able to use his arm and having to limit his activities but so far so good.[....I'm writing this on Monday afternoon because Theo will be here for a long day Tuesday so we will have to find as many activities we can to occupy him sitting down].

I've managed to finish the tiny felt bears I was making last week.

For those that didn't see it over on my Facebook page here's the Memory cushion cover I made this week.  It was made from a much loved Dad's favourite jumper....It was loved by so many and very many made really lovely comments about it.... that sort of gives me a warm, fuzzy glow.

I've been sorting out my buttons....I have so many and they are all colour sorted into jars but you can guarantee if I need 4 the same of any colour I will only have 3!!

Does anyone have any good suggestions as to what I can use them for?

The final photo I'm sharing today is of these three little Memory bears made from a much loved Dad's favourite cardigan.  It was a chunky knit, lined cardigan so one was made from the furry lining and the other two from the knitted fabric....very challenging to sew with but I'm really pleased with how they all turned out.

That's all from me for this week.  I will do my best to visit all I can but for some reason, known only to Mr Blogger, I have been unable to leave comments on some of the blogs I've visited.
Hugs,
Annie x

WOYWW.....

Hello all.  It's been an eventful week here...and not one I would want to repeat any time soon.  I know your here to see my desk but first I'm going to share a quick collage of our events of the weekend....Please don't click on them and enlarge them if your squeamish....

Our little Theo fell awkwardly on his left arm on Friday whilst at Preschool and broke both the ulna and radius in his left arm [hence the shape of his arm].  He had to have a temporary plaster put on in Shrewsbury A and E [ to realign it sufficiently to stop the bones trapping the nerves] and was then admitted to Telford Children's ward for surgery on Saturday morning.  Thankfully the Dr was able to manipulate his arm and realign the bones without using pins or plates.
He was such a brave little boy but we have now got a week of rest and limited movement [have you ever tried to get a 4 year old to sit still for a week?] and then it will be reassessed with x-rays and decisions made as to what happens next.

Moving on to what's on my desk this week.  It's been years since I made some of my tiny felt bears but I had a request for some good luck bears and my stocks were getting low.
I had forgotten just how tiny they were to get under the sewing machine [a bit like brain surgery] and how really satisfying they are to make.

I just have to stitch their eyes and noses now and to give them each a tiny bow.  :-)

I have had, what I guess will be, the last of my ATCs for the swap.  It's from Felicia and I love it....thanks so much Felicia.

And finally for those that haven't seen her on my Sewing by Annie Facebook page here's my latest little Memory bear made in memory of a much loved Grandma from her favourite cardigan.  I used the crocheted trim off the front of the cardigan to decorate the front of the bear and am rather pleased with the results [so was my customer :-) ].

That's all from me for this week.  I hope you didn't mind me sharing the trauma of my week but know lots of you will be wanting to send love, hugs and healing vibes Theo's way.

Hugs,

Annie x

WOYWW....

Didn't we have a lovely time in Llandudno folks?  I know I did and we are planning to do it again soon.

I'm sure we all feel we owe Julia a lot for launching this wonderful group.  So many wonderful friendships have been bade because of our Wednesday link ups.  Sadly Julia wasn't with us in body but her ears must have been burning all day because I know her name was mentioned many times.....we all love you lots Julia.

All I'm sharing today is the things I took with me to share as I haven't manage to craft and create yet since I got back.

I made everyone one of my little felt teddies and wrote a little ditty to go with them....it's my way of spreading a bit of Annie's love.

I decided everyone had seen my Memory bears and thought I would make a special bear to commemorate the day.  I put him in the draw and Shaz was the lucky winner.....I have a feeling I may have to make one for every crop now :-)

These are some of the goodies I was kindly given by others who came to the crop....it was like Christmas  :-)

Shaz brought lots of yummy fabrics she shared between Jan, Jo and I.....I've stroked it all Shaz and am sure it will all be put to good use in the not too distance future.  Thanks so much.

That's all from me for this week.  I hope to have more to share next week, hoping I have a little more time to get it ready.  It's been a very exciting week for this bear of little brain.

WOYWW....

Good morning blogging friends.
It's the last WOYWW before the big day and it's that day of the week when we all have a good snoop round lots of crafting spaces.  If you are here by chance and don't know what I mean then please pop over to Julia's blog and join in the fun.

I've been sitting in the warm knitting [no energy for much else  :-( ].  My cold is, alas, no better so I'm having forced rest at a time when I planned to be busy baking etc.  What the heck....I'm sure Christmas will still come without baking being done  :-)

I have played with the teddy knitting pattern and have made the smallest little knitted bear I've ever seen.  It's so cute and sits in the palm of a hand.

As you will have seen in a previous post I have also been knitting pixie hats for an advent calendar.
These are the five you saw earlier in the week....now finished.

And these are the next five in the bunch.  I'm having such fun choosing wools and designing each little hat.  Each one is different and you all know that is just what I love doing.  :-)  Do you have a favourite?  I love them all  :-)

My birds have been sooooo hungry with all this snow around.

This is the crab apple tree I can see from my kitchen window and this morning I counted 28 birds waiting in it  They sit there and watch me fill a bowl with fruit, seeds and any scraps I can find every morning and are down to eat it all as soon as I put it out for them.

For those who have asked how Fred my pheasant is here he is this morning tucking into the food I have put out for him.  He is looking really fat and well fed  :-)

Finally I would like to say a huge thank you to you all for the support and wonderful comments you all leave me and  I would like to wish you all a very Happy Christmas and hope 2011 brings you everything you wish for yourselves.  Stay well, warm and cosy and I will be back to check up on you all as and when I am able.

Ive just added a link to JoZart's blog in my side bar.  She is offering a Christmas gift draw so please pop over and join in with a chance to win.
