WOYWW...

Here we are at another Wednesday when we link up over at Sarah's to see what our friends are busy with each week....Please feel welcome to join in the fun.

So?  What is on my desk this week?

I made myself a new needle case because my old one has gone missing [holding all the special needles I use for my bear making!!].  I really hate to lose anything especially things I rely on so much...I've turned my sewing room upside down to look for it and it's nowhere to be found...my sewing room has had a good sort out though :-)

This is the first Memory bear made for 2025.  I made it for the school Shell teaches at as a gift and so far I have had two orders because of it :-)

The other thing I am able to share with you is my new little pupil, Izzy.  She had a new sewing machine for Christmas and her mummy asked if I would give her a few lessons with it.  She came for her first lesson on Monday and is really keen and eager to learn....I think she will go far.  During her hour with me she made herself a glasses case and learnt lots of new techniques [especially to slow down a little when she's sewing!!].
She then went home and made herself the little mouse from instructions on Utube and popped back in the afternoon to show me...I was speachless because she had done a really lovely job of making it....I'm so proud of her.

That's all from me for this week.  I will do my best to pop round to visit you as soon as I am able.  Have a great week all.
Hugs,
Annie x

This week's smiles ...week 421

Another lovely week has passed by.  I had my second Covid vaccine last Friday evening and the world seems to be opening up slowly but safely so I'm keeping everything crossed.  We've booked our first weekend away in our motor home now the facilities will be opening up on the campsites...but not for a few more weeks just to be sure.

Our garden has suffered with the weather lately...strong winds, rain and thunderstorms have knocked a lot of the blooms off...

Our masses of tulips have nearly all gone now and there's just the last man standing this morning....we have been watching the petals getting less each morning.

Behind the wood cladding that Milly is standing on we think is the home for a little mouse....in fact yesterday morning I saw one peeping out.  Cairn terriers were originally bred for chasing small rodents in the outdoors and Milly is good at her job....she's on the scent of the mouse in this pic and sniffs all along the edge every time she's out in the garden....I think she thinks it will come out to play but I think differently.
In the green grow bags in the bottom right of the pic are potatoes growing...each time they get covered up they seem to be peeping back out the next morning :-)

Gina sent me this photo this week of our little Theo trying out his new school uniform all ready for September....where has that time gone?  We seem to have missed out on so much of the last year sadly but are making the best of the Tuesdays we have left with him.

That's all from me for this week.  I'm hoping you are all fit, well and happy and have lots of smiles to share with us this week.

Hugs,

Annie x

This week's smiles....week 129

Happy Friday to you all.  It's been another busy and eventful week here for me and although a rather messy one it's been exciting.....more of that later.

Last week saw more of you joining in sharing your smiles.  I would like to thank those that regularly take the time to link up and to welcome those joining in for the first time....please come back cos we can never have too many smiles.  :-)  :-)  :-)  :-)

I would like to feature Jo[Zart]'s blog this week with her short sighted lion....it made me chuckle and I guess the moral to the story is....be careful where you put your glasses down.  :-)  Thanks for joining in last week Jo.

My smiles this week have been many.  As you will have noticed my back garden is springing up with real treasures and I changed my header picture so you could all share them....aren't my self-seeded poppies just stunning?

I have also snapped a photo of this beauty to share with you...

Isn't it stunning?  I really love poppies and these are some that have grown from some seeds that Janet [Fairythoughts] sent me last year so are rather special.  As many will know Janet has been rather poorly lately so I hope we can all send her our special love so she knows we are thinking of her.

My other photos revolve around the mess that's going on in my life at the mo....

This is what was delivered to my front drive on Wednesday morning....I love the way the builders have used the slope up the side of our bungalow and some rather long planks to barrow the rubbish into the skip.

By the end of Wednesday our two builders had dug out the metre deep footings by hand....and it was heavy clay soil [rather them than me!].

When I got up yesterday morning I went out with my camera to snap a few pics to record the building developments and look what had found it's way into the bottom of the footings....and bless him he couldn't get out so my good deed of the day was to put my washing line prop in so he could use it as a ladder to get out :-)

I couldn't have left him in there because the wooden peg you can see in the pic is marking out for the 9" of concrete that had been ordered for later in the day. [And I didn't want him buried alive!!].

.......and here's the proof.....

Two builders putting the concrete into the footings after we had had the visit of approval from the building inspector.  :-)

I've had soooooooo much to smile about this week as you can see.  I now hope you will snap your smiles and link them up below.  Have a great week.
Hugs,

This week's smiles...week 120

Here we are at yet another Friday when I share my smiles with you and hopefully you will link up below and share your smiles with us too.

I'd like to thank those that joined in last week and am featuring my big sister's blog today.  We both really love our birds as you know but round here we really do have some strange ducks.  We have both seen ducks sitting on roofs but she was able to capture hers on camera.....quackers or what?....they certainly make us smile :-)

Once my eye recovered enough to not have me pacing the floor in pain [scroll down for a pic if you dare!] I was able to enjoy life again and have def had a week of smiles so here's what I'm sharing today with you.....

Firstly I'm sharing two gorgeous Azaleas that we have inherited in our new garden.....they are only little bushes but they are really covered in blooms and are being shown off by Rocky who insisted in photo bombing my picture....he's always at my side :-)

Next I'm sharing two of the loves in my life...my hubby and my son.  It always makes me smile to see them working together on a project. :-)

And here's the finished result of their labours....a new post and chain boundary around the side on the front of our new home....it just might stop people reversing over our new garden!!  :-)

Here's a collage of the wonderful day spent with the twins on Wednesday.  If you click to enlarge the pics you will see that the fun park was enjoyed by all :-)

We went to Erddig near Wrexham and had a wonderful morning so if you're close and want to amuse grandchildren it comes highly recommended.

And last but by no means least here's a pic of the latest visitor to my bird feeders.  If you click to get a closer look you may well be able to see that feeding on the peanuts is a little mouse!!  He was a cheeky little thing too cos he sat there happily for me snap a few pics from literally 3 foot from him through the window [hence the poor quality pic].  :-)

There is always something here to make me smile and I really hope it's made you smile too.  Please snap a pic or two of your smiles and link them up below.  I promise I will pay you a visit and choose the one that makes me smile most to feature on next week's posting.

Hugs,
Annie x

Molly mouse for Bayou...

Good morning Bayou. I have finished the little grey mouse for you and hope you like her. She is quite a character and, like most of my felties, I really think shes gorgeous [ I struggle to part with most of them].
