WOYWW....

Another week of self isolation has passed and we have been enjoying some really lovely sunny days in the garden.  No weed has felt safe in our because the minute he pops his head up he's pulled out....our garden has never looked better :-)

I've moved a lot of the fabric off my desk and have even put some of it away to make room for the activities of the moment.....

I know it's far too early to mention the C word but I decided now would be a good time to do some painting while I can get it all out and leave it on my desk until I've finished what I'm doing with having no customers to disturb me.  At the begining of the year I ordered some wood slices to make some tree decorations with so that's what I have been up to.  It's something that I will enjoy dipping in and out of over the next couple of weeks.

I have also been sewing but as they are for birthday presents later in the year I can't share those with you yet and we have both enjoyed a few baking/cooking sessions together....

...fruity flapjacks and naan breads this week.  I think like most of you we are using up things from the store cupboard and finding recipes to adapt if we don't have all that's needed.  The naan breads were made without yeast as we didn't have any.  We found a recipe using baking powder instead and I have to say they were really yummy....and what we didn't eat were frozen and are ready for the next curry we make.....it's surprising what you can do when you try eh?

That's all from me for today.  I hope you are all staying home and are well and happy.
Hugs,
Annie x

I made a lovely stir fry salmon curry last night with my leftover fridge bits. I didn’t even taste test it before serving it as my sister was on the phone so I had to quickly dish it up when she’d gone.
Can’t make my mind up if we are dreading going shopping today or excited by it. Normally it’s just a chore but now it’s an opportunity to go out.
Take care lovely Annie

Oooh, the flapjack and naan bread look scrummy! It's great to see so much improvising going around at the moment. How lovely to have a change of crafting, you'll really enjoy painting those wood slices, I know I did last December, it was a simple but pleasing thing to do. We've been gardening like crazy too, haven't we been fortunate with the weather, it would have been very different if it was like February!

Your baking looks absolutely relish. Clever idea to start making the things that need space and you are right this is the perfect time as no one will be unexpectedly dropping by. Stay safe and keep sewing/cooking and creating.

Hi Annie, yes, I think there will be a lot of DIY done this year, and gardens are going to look amazing!Love the baking, I made a bread pudding last night, something we both like. We do eat some bread, but not a huge amount, and didn't want what we had in to go to waste. Have a lovely week, Stay safe, Hugs, Shaz #10 X

Hi Annie. Not too early to mention the C word as far as I am concerned - fear not! A great idea - some lovely Christmas (oops) gifts coming up there! Afternoon tea sounds good with the flapjack - enjoy. Out in the garden?? I saw a tv chef yesterday trying to encourage people to freeze food and not throw away - I have ALWAYS frozen food - have a big chest freezer, use a large slow cooker and freeze extra portions. Don't folk think of doing that?? I see that you do. Are we the minority??
Take care of yourselves. Enjoy your baking. Stay safe. God bless.

Can I have the recipe for the nan bread please - they look yummy. I am being much more frugal with the food we have and even made my children eat bread crusts ha ha . Not too many luxury items about at the moment so the baking is being done more and more. Enjoy your C decoration making . Take care stay safe Soojay #18

It's very surprising what you can make with those back of the cupboard ingredients, those nann breads look awesome I don't think mine have ever looked that good with or without yeast. I think many of us have started to make our birthday presents earlier than expected, we will all be ahead of ourselves soon. Take good care of yourself this Easter & a very happy WoywW Tracey #24 x

We worked for a few hours in the garden today and Norrie has burned his face! The naan bread looks scrummy- I made pizzas from scratch the other night and they were so light and moreish. This is now our fourth week of staying safe and I have so enjoyed making us tasty, healthy meal with the ingredients I have rather than an exact recipe. Keep safe.

I think it is good fun trying out recipes that you adapt because you haven't got the right ingredients. I won't be making the golden syrup yet as I found another recipe for the oats that I am going to try when he has finished the ones I did with the brown sugar.
My words Annie, I never thought I would see your desk without any sewing on it - and painting instead. What will we see you turning your hand to next?
I do hope we get a lovely weekend, weatherwise, we deserve and need it after all this lockdown we have endured. It would be lovely to hear folks chatting in their gardens and smell the barbecues working. Street parties (individual gardens) on lockdown!
Stay safe and well,
Hugs, Neet 2 xx

Fantastic! you've been busy ~ I need to get at my weeds, I started but didn't get very far yet. The Naan bread looks good, that might be fun for sarah to try to make next. Good for you getting a jump start on "C" that's terrific ~ Keep crafting & weeding ~

We've been doing lots of weeding too - the blooming things grow so quickly - I swear they grow back in two days, even with the roots out. I can't believe you can think of Christmas when it's not even Easter yet, but you're right you have to do these things when you get a chance. I like your yummies! Great ideas and I think I may even have the ingredients! I really don't want to go shopping if I can help it! Stay safe Annie and thanks for your visit! xx zsuzsa #16

Well done with your baking. I would have done some but couldn't get any flour from the supermarket and you might know we had just about run out as everything kicked off. We've been in the garden most of today and gave Maisie and Stan a good grooming and trimming, they were not particularly impressed! Wishing you a happy woyww and lots of crafty thoughts to keep you busy, Angela x15x

You are clearly keeping nice and busy during the lockdown! Love the look of your cooking, and well done for adapting recipes to make use of what you've got. Fortunately my pantry is pretty well stocked, and although I'm finding it difficult to secure delivery slots, my hubby will pop down the road for what we need if necessary, so we are coping OK too.

Keep safe and well, and happy belated WOYWW,
