WOYWW....

Hi folks.  Happy Wednesday to you all.

I have more sewing to show you today....cos that's what I do :-)

This was my sewing machine area yesterday while I was making a throw to go across the bottom of Shell's bed for her...it's what you do when you have already shortened the curtains for them and have enough fabric to make a matching bed throw :-)

Shell even let me put her new throw on her bed and snap it so I could show you it all finished.  It really looks fab and completes the look too.

It's been a week of sewing for the bedroom.  Here is one of our quilt covers that I have given a new life to.  The panel that went across the top of the quilt was in a fabric that my dry hands kept catching on [they get like sandpaper at times!] and it kept waking me up in the middle of the night so it had to go.  The quilt cover was fairly new so far too good to throw out so I have replaced the panels with a pretty turquoise cotton fabric and of course the pillows now have matching panels too  :-)...it all needs a good press now but I'm rather chuffed with the results.  :-)

Thanks for calling by today and for all the lovely comments you leave.  I will do my best to pop over to yours as soon as possible to say hello so do let me know you've called by.
Hugs,
Annie x

The throw on Shell's bed looks gorgeous, (and her room so tidy, it must just be me that is a mess then..) Hope you have a great week. Helen #1

Tell Shell we've got that paper in one of our bedrooms and the same bed head except ours is beech wood. Great choice haha

Good morning, Annie. And you reckon I'm busy! Love the new look - and a very posh throw for Shall. Thanks for visiting already - and for your comments. John seems not to have an infection at the moment, which is great, but still struggling with breathing.
Take care. God bless.

Well, your blog is a wonderful example of repurposing! Too many people chick stuff out these days, you did a great job of finding alternative, and very smart, uses :-)
The Hooter and Hedgie bodies only take about an hour to knit, so I do them while watching TV....doesn't take long!

Wow! That bedspred for Shell has really come into its own! What a beautiful coordinated bedroom. And so tidy! I bet Shell was really chuffed.
Clever idea to put a strip of cotton on your duvet covers.
Thanks for visiting already.
Do have a good week,

Lovely sewing you've done!

I asked about your machines last week, and realized that coverlock is the name pfaff uses for the machine I have: a combination with overlock and (probably) the blind hemmer= two machines in one :)

I so admire people that can just alter things as the need arises. The quilt looks fab with that turquoise strip!

I'm hoping when I go back to school in September that I can have a play in their Fashion Dept and try to learn the basics of the sewing machine. Haven't been able to go on mine since we've lived here because first Ruby was to little and now Logey - there is no safe place to set it up and I'm desperate to have a go at some art dolls! They wont mind me commandeering a machine to make a crow or a zombie... will they? ;)

Thanks for coming to see me already.

How nice to be able to 'dress' the bedroom like that, it looks great. OOh I'm with you over that sort of material, but of course, your solution is much much better than mine would have been!
