This week's smiles....week 373

Here we are at another weekly catch up of the smiles from the week.  I was missing on Wednesday for WOYWW because I had been up most of the night with a poorly tummy so hadn't slept and had looked after the grandchildren on Tuesday so was totally drained....I'm pleased to say I am much better now and after a couple of good night's sleep am now raring to go. I have a few smiles to share with you...

After spending over 4 hours with my eldest daughter, Shell, in A and E on Saturday she treated us to some croissants and lots of fresh fruit for our breakfast on Sunday morning.....as you can see some of the fruit was a little tart!!  His face really made me chuckle.

Shell had had a virus that had caused her to have a prickly heat type rash all over her arms and legs and it then caused her to have reactive arthritis in her hands....she was in so much pain and her hands were very swollen....thankfully they gave her some strong antiinflammatories and they are much better now....we are so lucky to have our NHS [even if it did take over 4 hours lol].

Here is this week's collage of some of the gorgeous plants in our garden....there seems to be something to make us smile everywhere we look [even if the pollen from all the flowers is making my asthma worse!].

Of course I had to find a few funnies to share with you.

Bottom left really made me smile, being an ex midwife.

I've had a few days like the cat in bottom right pic lately so it made me chuckle.

Hope you have found something to make you smile and will link up to your own smiles below....everyone welcome.
Hugs,
Annie x

This week's smiles....weel 372

It's been one of those weeks when I've not got many photos to share with you but my biggest smile was when I filled my tax return in on line....it's not something I enjoy doing but I smiled a lot when it was finished :-)

I decided to go around our garden and to take pics to share with you all....the best bit was how many I found.  As you can see we have lots to keep us smiling.

There was even a busy bee sitting in one of the yellow Welsh poppies.

I managed to find some funnies to share with you too.

This one especially made me chuckle.

I will be joining other family members later to plan the funeral service for my brother in law so I may be late getting round to say hello this week so please be patient with me.

Please leave me a little message so I know you've called by and link up to your smiles below.

Hugs,

WOYWW...

Here we are at another weekly catch up with our creative friends all around the world....It's the best day of the week for me.  I'm really hoping to go to the crop later in the month even though it's the day after my brother in law's funeral.....I am sure a day with friends is just what will be needed.  I checked with Sarah as to how many she expects to attend and decided I needed to make some ATCs to take with me so that's what's on my desk today.

I started by strip quilting a long length of fabric and then machine embroidered down each strip, cut them into ATCs and embroidered around each one.  I then added tiny flowers.  If I'm honest I wasn't feeling very creative but I'm rather pleaded with the finished results....I hope everyone that comes to the crop will like them too.

This week's smiles....week 371

Here we are at our weekly round up of the smiles from the week and even though life here is difficult we have lots to smile about.

Louie had an open day to celebrate his birthday with family and friends on Sunday and his Aunty Shell [and family] bought him a pop up fire engine and fireman's outfit....he loved it :-)

Lexi had more dance competitions on Sunday and proudly came away with 3 x 3rds and a 2nd......she really is loving life and we are so very proud of her.

Her twin brother, Sam was awarded the April Student on the Month in Music and in the category of Learning at school....he makes us very proud too.

Of course we also have to have a few funnies to make us smile....and I've found lots this week.  I'm sure something here will make you chuckle.
I hope you have all had a great week and have lots of smiles to share with us by linking up below.
Hugs,

WOYWW...

Sorry I didn't join in the fun last week.  We had been contacted by a paramedic on the morning of Thursday 11th to say my hubby's brother had suddenly died and could we attend his 83 year wife.  My hubby is the executor for him and as he was a Civil Engineer and had been working the day before he died [Aged 76!] we now have to sort out his funeral/business etc....so there's lots to do and it doesn't leave a lot of time for creativity.

I have done my best to keep all my customers happy and have managed to do all their sewing and had an hour or so in my sewing room making these...

I had painted all the toppers a while ago and they had just sat on the shelf waiting to be finished so I used it as a bit of distraction therapy and am rather pleased with the results.

That's all from me for today.  I will do my best to call in on you asap but please forgive me if I fail this week.

Hugs,

This week's smiles...week 370

I'm sorry I wasnt able to write a post last week and hope you understand and managed without me.

Thursday 11th we had a phone call in the morning from a paramedic to say my hubby's brother had died suddenly.  It was unexpected and was a real shock to everyone especially his 83 year old wife who had found him.  My hubby is one of the executors and there is a business to sort out.  John was a Civil Engineer and was still working the day before at age 76.....it will take months to sort out.

Saying all that it has also been a week of celebrations....

This gorgeous boy was 2 last week and on Sunday we joined the family for the day in North Wales to celebrate....it was a much needed happy time together.

This beautiful girl was 8 on Tuesday....she's sitting soaking up some rays in the sunshine.  She brings us so much love :-)

We celebrated our 42nd Wedding Anniversary on Wednesday....it's on weeks like this one that you really treasure what you have.  We make such a good team.   Here's to many more happy years together.....I love this photo.

Our garden has been beautiful this week and always makes us smile.

Of course we cant have a Friday without a few smiles and because I was missing last week there are a few more than normal....I hope something here makes you smile.
Hugs,

WOYWW...

I was missing last week.  We had gone of the first adventure in our caravan of 2024...there are details/pics in my Friday post if you'd like to see more.

On my desk this week are the, now finished, army of frogs for the H J Trust...

I hope they all do well in fighting the battle against cancer in children.

I've had my first order for a school leavers Memory bear for this school year....and have another one coming this week....I wonder how many I will get this year?

In between all the jobs I've done for my customers I have also made this lovely Alphabet wall hanging....I will be selling this to raise funds for the charity.

I'm sure it will look lovely hanging on the wall in a baby's nursery.

I hope you will leave me a little message so I know you've called in and I will pop over to your blog to see what you've been up to this week.

Hugs,

This week's smiles....week 368

It's been a wonderful week for us....but it's not been spent here at Sewing by Annie's.  We have been away on another adventure in our caravan...the first for 2024.

We stayed on a really lovely campsite called Lamb Cottage in Winsford.  It was an adult only site and the facilities were spotless.  We did have some rain but we also had sunshine and lots of bird song all around us....it was perfect.

We visited Anderton canal lift....it was amazing to watch it working and while we were there we saw two canal boats being dropped to the lower canal and another one lifted up to the higher one.

We visited Quarry Mill [a National Trust property so it was free to us as members].  The grounds were really lovely with lots of places to walk and the old mill was amazing....I was able to see the old looms still working weaving cotton fabric.

We had to visit the Snugburys Ice cream shop whilst there....we had been there before so the visit was compulsory....it's the best ice cream we have ever tasted so be sure to pay it a visit if you are ever in the area.

The bee was 40 foot tall and was very impressive.

Of course it wouldnt be a Friday without a few funnies...and this week I've found lots :-)
I hope you've had a lovely week filled with lots of smiles and you will share them by linking up below.
Hugs,
