Hello all. There's not many of these gatherings left before Christmas now and I've been being kept on my toes with making Memory bears and tackling other challenges.....wait til you see what that was!!!
The two Memory bears and elephant I told you I was making to go with the other's I had previously made have been received by my customer through the post and she put them all together and sent me the photo at the bottom of the pic....don't they look lovely all together?
Since then I've made 5 Memory bears for a customer down in Cornwall in memory of her husband....and may be having orders for more from there at some point for other family members.
I have also made one for a local customer out of her much loved Dad's jacket....and will be getting more orders from other family members soon too.
This was my biggest challenge of the week and I know it's one that will make you chuckle. It's not every day you are asked to reshoe a 4 foot unicorn!! I knew I was expecting the unicorn to arrive but I had no idea at all just how big it would be and my face must have been a picture when I opened the door to my customer!!
In the top pic you can see his worn out pink shoes and my customer had brought 2 cushion covers to replace this fabric with. The original fabric was stretchy and the new wasn't so that was the first problem to start with. I had to make a pattern without removing the old shoes and the new ones had to be stitched on by hand because, as you can imagine a 4 foot unicorn doesn't fit under the sewing machine!!
But, you know me, I love a challenge and the unicorn is being picked up with his new shoes later today and will be going home to one very happy little 6 year old girl. :-)
I bet not one of you can say they have made new shoes for a unicorn before but if you have one that needs reshoeing then you know I have a pattern made for it :-)
I hope you have all had a good week and will leave me a little message so I know you've called by.
Hugs,
Annie x

well I think you could be on a first there for sure.... glad you were able to rise to the challenge! what a group of bears too! Have a great week in the run up to this weird Christmas! Happy WOYWW Helen #2
Morning Annie. You can rest assured I won't be sending you a unicorn for new shoes - breathe easily! Must admit to a large laugh at the thought of sticking a four foot tall unicorn under the sewing machine needle!! The photo with all the bears and two elephants is lovely - another to add to your album! How many bears have you made now???
Take care. God bless.

Impressive sewing there with the shoes! No, you are the first I know of who has made shoes for a unicorn.
An impressive array of bears there too - but then you always have impressive sewing on your desk.
Hugs, Neet 16 xx
ps thank you for your Christmas card x
You are a woman of many talents! The unicorn shoes made me laugh a lot, you did a great job there and you just know that little girl will be made up. Great bears again but I have to say that the one made from the jacket is my favourite of all the ones you’ve done, I don’t know why it’s different but he just works. Lovely to ‘see’ you yesterday!

Ah such a lovely post full of bears and... a unicorn!!! Whatever next! Good job you are a gal who loves a challenge. xx Jo
This is the first time I've seen the elephants ~ Super cute! The unicorn definitely was a unique challenge ~ I'm glad they had you to complete the project! Well done ~ Enjoy the season
It's always good to get a challenge now and then but maybe being quite a big Unicorn might be easier to deal with than being tiny, not quite so fiddly and he looks fab with his new shoes. The bears are a picture, love them to bits. Take care and have a lovely woyww, Angela x12x
Hi Annie, well that must be the most unusual job you've had yet, lol. Not everyone can say they've re-shod a unicorn. I'm sure it has made a young girl very happy. The bears all look fabulous together. Stay safe, have a lovely week, hugs, Shaz #6 X

Annie, you are too funny! If someone has shoed a pink unicorn using a sewing machine, I'd dare them to show us a picture! LOLOL Too funny! :) He's precious and I know your customer WILL indeed be very happy! :) Love the photos of your finished bears......although, I'm still in love with the Elephant! LOLOL He's so stinking cute! Your heart and spirit are just so, so sweet with this project! I know that there a lot of blessed people because of your blessing this holiday season! Merriest of Christmas's and blessings, Felicia #31
I love the elephants! I don't remember seeing those before! The unicorn looks happy with her new pink shoes - now there's a story to tell! Happy #602 Annie! xx zsuzsa #27
Loving the bears and elephants, but the Unicorn made me laugh - you really do end up with a random selection of fun jobs don't you! Happy WOYWW. Take care and stay safe. With love & God Bless, Caro xxx (#13)

Well done on rescuing the unicorn it's far too cold to be without any shoes right now. Those grey bears and elephants look smashing all together, beautiful work Annie. Happy WoywW Hugs Tracey #8 x
I’ll know where to bring my unicorn when she needs reshod-you are never fazed by any sewing job! All the animals are lovely and I don’t know how you do it all so quickly! I’m faffing with some christmas makes but it’s really hard to get enthusiatic.
Whoa, I thought there was something in my coffee for a minute! What a fab job you made of re-shoeing that unicorn, and although I totally get the hand stitching thing, I would have loved to see you trying to wrestle it around the machine bed!!
A woman of many talents obviously - is unicorn re-shoeing on your cv now? It might be a bit niche tbh. The bears all in a row are just super cute, I really do love them. Have a good week, stay well, stay safe, Cindy #26 xx
You certainly don't do things by halves Annie! Fabulous work as always. Well done on the new talent lol. Stay safe and happy WOYWW. Sarah #3
I feel a story coming on 'The Unicorns new shoes'.I admire you for tackling anything a bit like me in my younger days but now no more haven't got the patience.
Thank you very much for my card I did puzzle who it was from for a while as I didn't know your other half was called David!! Hope you and your family have a great Christmas. Ani
Hi, I agree with craftyani - a great story to be had there “The Unicorn’s New Shoes”. I think sewing them on like that must have been really difficult so well done x Angela #5
Found you on Felix' blog, and I'm so loving those memory bears! It's a fabulous idea, and no doubt inspired your unicorn owner to have you do such an important repair job. :D
Memory bears will keep you set for life. Here we're having about 9 to 15 deaths in our area a DAY. A real mess and all ages. Sadness is it is all live streaming and limited restrictions on church attendees. Oh the fun of challenges, and you did great with those shoes. Time just flies by I'm keeping my Winter crafting out and working on projects for next year. I've had no real time this year and it looks like I'll have plenty of HOME TIME for awhile.
Stay safe, enjoy the weekend.
I always say you never know what you are going to come across on WOYWW, that people get up to, but I think this one takes the biscuit! Re-shoeing a unicorn? That has to be a first, and something unique! I am sure that with your amazing sewing skills, such a task was well within your capabilities though, and I am sure that the proud owner of this magnificent creature will be over the moon at the results. Ever thought of getting a job with the Repair Shop? They get all sorts of weird and wonderful repair jobs to do and I'm sure it would be right up your street - nothing too much of a challenge, and success with flying colours at the end! Thanks for making my day with a delightful post!!
Happy belated WOYWW,
