Here we are at the 'What's on your work desk Wednesday' post in between Christmas and the New Year. If you called by last week you may remember I had been having sleepless nights while nursing my darling hubby with tonsillitis.....well, he shares everything with me [including his bugs!] and since then while he has, thankfully, got slowly better I have got slowly worse :-( I didn't get the tonsillitis but mine landed on my chest and has also affected my ears giving me a horrible giddy head. I have to say that I could really do with these bugs going away now....I think a few good frosty nights would kill them but alas we still have mild weather here....thankfully though not the floods that many have suffered throughout the country. My heart goes out to those affected with the floods.
As you can imagine my sewing room has been badly neglected over the last week but I do have the bits I made before Christmas to show you that I couldn't share with you when I made them and a few bit of fun I made for my little monsters....
These are two non-slip mats [for their sewing machine foot pedals] and matching pin cushions for a couple of my sewing buddies....I enjoyed making them and hope my buddies liked them.
The last time we babysat for Amy's three Phoebe said she needed a book mark for her latest reading book [she loves reading] so I searched Pinterest for a few ideas and made her a monster one. Of course once I'd made one I got a little carried away and ended up making 2 each for all my little monsters :-)....they sit on the corner of the page to keep your place.
I hope you like my latest makes and here's hoping by next Wednesday I have something new on my desk to share with you.
I really hope you enjoy your New Year celebrations and 2016 brings you good health and lots to keep you happy but from me for now thanks for calling by. If you leave me a little message to let me know you've called I will do my best to call by at yours to see what you've been busy with.
Hugs,
Annie x

Hi Annie, Just popping in the say I hope you're soon feeling better and wish you a happy and healthy 2016.
I love those little bookmarks. I'm down to demo this idea at our village club next month but not seen the monsters before. Fantastic idea I might have to use! I look forward to joining in again with Friday Smiles next week. Barbxx
Hoping you are on the road to recovery...those head colds just knock one for a loop this time of year. I love your little homemade gifts. And how sweet are those bookmarks. Something fun to send thru the mail. I'll have to do a few made of hearts for Feb 14th. Well the 24th our weather changed no forecast for SNOW but 8 to 10 inches, winds and bad roads. Interstates were closed, but all is calm now. Wishing you and yours a very HAPPY NEW YEAR, may good health love and PEACE be with you all. So much enjoy my visits to your blog.
Hope you feel better very soon. have had a cold here too, which seems to have taken a long time to arrive.. love the book marks and also the mats for the sewing machine pedals Happy New Year, Helen 5
Oh, I'm sorry you've been feeling rough :-( let's hope it clears up quickly..as you say, we need a cold snap to kill the bugs. I'm fighting off a cold too. If you've still got a dizzy head, check out Brandt Doroff exercises...they're what I do when I get BPPV, it helps moves things in your inner ear..it helps a lot actually.
Happy New Year to you and your lovely family...may it be happy and healthy!

Love the mats and pin cushions - at moment cannot get picture of bookmarks to display - I've been having internet problem all morning - bet they are fab. Glad dh better sorry you are poorly. DH went down with the lurgy again on Christmas Eve! He managed though to get through but not too good at moment and we have cancelled New Year's Eve plans :-( Get well soon Annie. Hugs Anne x #17
I love the non slip mats - what a fantastic idea, and the little bookmarks are so cute. I hope you are soon feeling better, there are so many of these things going round in this mild weather at the moment.
Wishing you a happy and healthy New Year,
Diana #18
Hi Annie, sorry to hear you are still suffering. I'm very familiar with nights sitting up coughing when my asthma is playing up - not fun at all. Hope you are better soon. I've been wishing for some frosty days too - could make a big difference - but instead we have Storm Frank wrecking our garden and Bonnie's greenhouse! Yes, she has her very own wee plastic greenhouse where she usually hangs out during the day. Not today, though - the wind lifted it and dropped it over a seven foot wall into the front garden - the cover is completely ruined. Alan is now on a mission to find a replacement cover for it before she ventures out again. Love the little non-slip pads - such a thoughtful gift for your sewing friends - and the bookmarks are great fun. Happy New Year to you and yours. Hugs, Elizabeth x #37
The non-slip mat looks brill. Looking forward to trying that out in Twiglet's sewing room! Really sorry to hear that you're still unwell. Sending our hugs. All the best for 2016. Happy crafting, Max #32 :-)

Hi Annie, sorry to hear you're not feeling so good. I am late too as I have been under the weather today, it's the heavy winds we've had today they cause me to get headaches but it's better now. Sending you big New Year Hugs, Angela xXx 16

Trust you are beginning to feel much better at this end of the week.
Love those bookmarks!!! Just the sort of thing I would use in the books I read. I regularly have more than one on the go at a time - so am always looking for bookmarks.
Take care in 2016. God bless.

So sorry to hear you have been poorly in your household Honey.
Such a shame at this time of year. Though you are right, some frosty mornings will kill a few bugs right now.
Happy New Year.
