As most of you will know I won the Knitivity book from Carmen's draw and you will all know that I have been desperate to get going on making the characters.
Well! I started yesterday with Mary....well I thought that was what I was knitting!!!
I thought you might like a few snaps of the stages of knitting one of these characters so you will understand what I mean :-)
These are all the body pieces for the characters. I sent this pic via text to Twiglet and she said it looked like I was knitting a parsnip! That is until I stitched them together.........
Hmmmm. Now Carmen what exactly have you got me knitting? All I can say is I've never seen one with little feet before. :-)
Sorry the pic was a little dark but I'm sure you can see that my phallic symbol now has a face and arms....and yes I have checked the pattern and have knitted just as instructed. Now I have to knit it a dress! :-)
I said a dress.... Not wings! OK I will continue knitting......
There....that's better. I'm sure she will look better in the stable. Now all I have to do is think of a title for this blog ....believe me I have had many suggestions. :-)

Well worth the effort, I think she is very matronly.
In fact more "matron" than "madonna"!
mmmmmmmmmmm !!!! a phallic symbol with arms and legs !!!

Some people have dirty minds - anyone could see you were knitting a space rocket ;)
Can't wait to see Joseph - is he bigger & pinker ;)
Oh my! For a moment there I thought maybe I'd sent you the wrong book! :D Thanks for the chuckle on this cold and frosty morning :P
My mother started knitting a woolen farmyard adn all its livestock for my neice when she was little 20 years later she gave up attempting to complete it so bon courage!!!
Hmmmm...difficult to get the phallic symbol out of my mind, even when it is clothed in blue with a face...
Knitted parsnips ! I still have a few leeks out in the snow - could you do them some hats & scarves please ? !
Mary looks like a no nonsence type of girl - like a nurse, any funny business on her ward with that thingy & they would be severely repremanded !
Great fun xx
You did make me laugh today.
And those doggies on the post below are just adorable. I have a Glen of Imaal terrier, what variety are yours?

Oh my... ROTFLOL.... I think the pattern maker is getting a good laugh out of this! Cute resulting doll.... whew! Thx for stopping by my blog. I have since posted The Card. Have a toasty day!

Oh crikey - what an "interesting" shape that started out!
You could now add a nice line in Willy Warmers to your shop maybe....
Hahahaha that didn't look anything like a Mary in the beginning stages! We have spent 2 weeks training out Joseph (in the Christmas play) how to hold a baby correctly. I have had a giggle with his mum. He started holding it upside down.......then he was poking the eyes out, then he was holding it by the head and then today I think he is finally mastering the art of holding a baby!! I sent him with a little funny note home asking if he could practise with his teddy bears! xxxxx
My, I was beginning to wonder where this was going. Just about to tell puss to clap her paws over her eyes. Can't wait to see Joseph!!

Saw this and thought of you! xxx
I love her feet! although it looks like she might have to waddle along a bit if she fancies a walk. Did you ever see the knitted Daleks I did - there's a post somewhere on my blog - that was my greatest knitting challenge ever! Not so seasonally appropriate though.
Thanks so much for your comment on my last post - it is all very grim at the moment - spent 7 hours today at the house and managed to unearth some kitchen worksurface and scrub it clean with a brillo pad, but it's all a bit disheartening and impossible at the moment. Friendships mean a lot though so thank you for yours xx
Perhaps you could have borrowed the title from Rolf Harris - 'Can you see what it is yet?'
Look forward to seeing the other characters!
LOL, i loved how you shared the transformation! she looks quite nice!
oh dear lord i have never before seen a dildo warmer
you could make a fortune - niche market and all that..
Dxxxx
You sure will have fun knitting this nativety - will it be done for christmas?

You are a winner come see what you got...

OMG - i've come to check out your posts (i've not been hopping for a while) and I see things that are positively not what they really are!!! If that makes sense!!!
I'm sure when its finished - it will be fab!!!
