These are my work desks today.
This one has my computerised [clever] machine on the left hand side, the industrial machine [work horse] in the middle and the overlocker on the right hand side.
This one has my blind hemmer on the front and tends to be my dumping ground at the back.
It's a hive of industry for me this week. Friday brought more customers to my door than I'd had all week, because of the chaos that was going on all week outside on the road [and it's not finished yet!]. Because of that it's going to be a busy week for me to clear my workload.
I've got...
A Wedding dress to shorten 4 layers of hems on shortening the train at the back by about 3 foot [rather a challenging job to say the least] ,
A young lady's posh frock with gathered pleated over skirt to take in on the bodice and this means I have to gather the skirt and regather the pleated part to fit the bodice after I've taken in the back [a tricky job!].
I've also got trousers galore to let out and shorten on my 'to do' rail so please don't imagine me putting my feet up and enjoying the tennis this week :-)
No two weeks are the same here for me. I have already altered a huntsman's red jacket and 4 pair of riding breeches and lifted the shoulder's on a dress and a lady's blouse. Even though I didn't have many customers last week I still had 4 more new ones and I think I now only need about 14 more to reach my 1000th customer :-) What an achievement in just 6 years eh?
For those wondering how the crocheted flowers are going I've now started working on the other colours :-)

Wow, you are so busy making or altering dresses, and I can't even make a simple book cover. Really can't believe all the sewing machines you have. You rock!! Happy WOYWW.

Blimey hun, you have your work cut out with all that... as for the wedding dress... good luck! When I had to have mine shortened (not that I am a shorty person or anything .. much LOL) it took the poor lass three weeks to get it exactly right...good luck!! x

Busy indeed...and yes Annie, I think it's a huge achievement in 6 years. Congrats. As for watching the tennis - it allseems a bit staid and samey after my World Cup excitement!!

What joy to be able to work with glorious fabrics like that. My new machine has been idle since I got it -just can't summon up the mental energy to use it. Oh wow Annie! Where do you find the time? I do hope you don't have to do all the housework (I'm now going to wash my moth out with soap and water for saying that word) as well! I love the crocheted flowers. I had a go on Saturday (first time ever) and took a piccy of my first 3 attempts. I still think they look a bit holey compared to the pic in the mag, but it has inspired me somewhat to have a go at a few other things now. Good luck with those dresses and I'd love to do what you do but I'm so impatient I have to be able to learn things in a day or I lose interest half the time. Okay I'm off to visit some of the other girls quickly.

Hello! I love your workspace - I wish I could have my sewing machine on my desk all the time but then that would be the only thing I would have on there! You will be very busy, but you have some lovely dresses to work on! I like your chrocheted flowers! I sometimes put them on cards - very nice!

helloo that looks like lots of hard work, I had to mend my sons school trousers yesterday, he'd split the whole of the crotch, it had to be make do as only two weeks of school left, :)

I wish you lived nearer me! I have a top that I desperately want taken in when I've finished losing weight. My sis bought me it a couple of christmases ago - it's gorgeous but it's one of those free size ones and was too big when she gave me it - I think it would look so much better fitted. Will have to see if someone in my area could do it.
