What's this? I'm posting two Wednesdays in a row? Hehe....don't worry cos there's another adventure just around the corner....we are determined to get the most out of life while we can.
On my desk today is...
These are the, now completed 8 Memory cushion covers I started last week. I have really enjoyed making these. There were a few special requests and it's always really lovely working with my customers wishes.
I have also shortened a posh frock and steamed it for a special wedding and shortened a blouse for another customer.
For the most observant amongst you, yes that is birthday wrapping paper at the back because yesterday was my much older sister's BIG birthday....Happy Birthday Jo....Life just wouldn't be the same without you. Love you lots xxxx
Finally here's the latest update from my Granddaughters. Most nights after school they are enjoying playing on their sewing machine now and I am really enjoying their updates as to what they make next....this week they have been designing and making their dollies dresses.....not sure who they take after :-)
Thanks for calling by. please leave me a little message and I will call by at yours to see what you've been up to this week.
Hugs,
Annie x

ReplyDeleteWow, you must have taught the girls good as they are already little dressmakers. I bet it fills you with a sense of pride knowing that your genes and teaching will go on and on.

That’s how lots of fashion designers start, making clothes for their dolls! Well done girls and Nanny of course. Thank you for the piggy pattern, haven’t had a chance to do anything yet but the ones Ani made look great. Great cushions, good use out of those shirts etc, Have fun on your next adventure!

Tada! So fun to see your grands enjoying the fun of sewing. I think it's wonderful they have that class. I don't know if they do that here anymore, I've no one show interest if they do. (Sad) Always good to see your projects. Have a good week
ReplyDeleteI love the memory cushion covers, Annie - beautiful subtle colours. Your granddaughters certainly take after you! Delightful photos. I love the sunflowers at the top of your blog! ONe of my favourite flowers.

Memory cushions look lovely, happy birthday to your sister, and gosh I used to have so much fun making clothes for my dolls too, what fun they are having. Also loving the sunflowers in your site header. Happy WOYWW! Elle #21, EOTC
ReplyDeleteI can't think who your granddaughters take after either, Annie. It was my gran that taught me to make dolls clothes too. The clothes they have made are lovely and I see a bright future for the girls. Love the memory cushions too. You both do right to make the most of life, especially after the last year or so. Have a wonderful week. Hugs, Ellie x #24

It’s bit a small step from Dolly clothes to real ones, the girls especially will love being able to plot and make and wear unique clothes as they get to the teen self expression years. And look at Stephen’s lovely face with his teddy in a sleeping bag, no skill is a waste of learning is it. Happy adventuring for the next trip then….look forward to hearing about it v much.xx
