This week's smiles....week 443

Sadly there are no smiles from me this week.  I am self isolating with Covid and boy have I been a poorly girl.  I've run really high temperatures since last Thursday and am still feeling as weak as a kitten.  The annoying thing is we have no idea how we have caught it because we are very cautious and always wear face masks and use hand gel everywhere we go [although of course not everyone else is so careful].  I am so very grateful that I am double jabbed.  My hubby has also tested positive but thankfully his hasn't been so severe and he is mow much better [and is doing a great job of looking after me].

So please link up your smiles below because, trust me, I could do with them this week.

Hugs,

Annie x

  1. Sorry to read about this horrific turn of events, Annie. It makes me feel less confident about the vaccines. Please feel better soon. I have lots of questions that come to mind, but I'll wait, since we both have illness to deal with.

  2. Oh I'm so sad to hear this. With all your being so careful etc, you still manage to catch it.
I know that being vaccinated doesn't prevent you from getting it, but it shouldn't be so severe. But now that much time has passed since the vaccination we really should be getting a booster, just like the flu jab gets re-applied every year, I think the Covid vaccination should be repeated every year.
I do hope you will get through this quickly. We're thinking of you and of course praying for you.
    All the best,
    Hugs, (Virtual ones are allowed)

  3. Sorry to hear that you both have Covid and that you have been really poorly with it. We have our booster jabs next Monday and like yourselves have been careful if we are out and about. Take care and it’s good you are being looked after by your lovely husband. X

  6. Hi Annie, sorry to hear the news. Sadly a lot of people think it's gone and are not bothering to protect themselves and others. I am still cleaning down everything we buy from the supermarket as well as wearing masks and hand washing. They know that there has been an increase since children went back to school and just about all my friends who are still teaching have either had it or have it at the moment. The government are not bothering to give good advise to headmasters and they are left to make their own decisions despite not always getting support from parents, it's very difficult. You have lots of rest. Best wishes for your quick recovery, Angela xXx

  7. omg, see this is what terrifies me. One gets vaxed for yourself to stay alive, but can still carry the virus to others who can develop it even though they are vaxed... so masks are still needed to stop the spread.
I read your post to my husband who had both shots/jabs but I only had one with a big allergic reaction. My doctor said not to try the second but now I think I have to risk anaphylaxis just to stay alive.
People don't develop immunity from having it either... sheesh! I sure hope you start the mending process soon... and regain strength
