I was MIA again last Wednesday...we were off on another adventure in our motor home and had no internet so I was unable to join in the Wednesday fun....I did put a few pics on my Friday post if you'd like to know where I was.
I'm back in full on sewing mode this week. My desks are full to overflowing with a gentleman's shirts that I am cutting up and making into 8 Memory cushion covers. I started Monday morning by patching and darning a pair of trousers for my son and then had a customer needing 2 pair of trousers shortening so I did those before I made a start with the cushion covers.
I have cut the backs off the shirts to use for the patchworked fronts of the cushion covers and sorted them into colour ways.
I've cut out the 8 backs of the cushion covers using the button fronts of the shirts as the fastenings.
I've now made the first 3 cushion covers using the items that my customer requested so will be working on the other 5 today.
As most of you will know I make a Christmas tree decoration for each of my Grandchildren [plus a few extras] every year and this year I've made pigs in blankets. I've really loved making them while I was rather more quiet workwise and just know they will cause a chuckle or two.
If anyone wants to make a few I have a pattern printed out ready.

Glad you had a good time away last week! Those cushion covers are great using all the different fabrics but the Pigs in Blankets made me hoot!! Please may I have a pattern? I’ve got to lead one of the WI Craft club sessions making felt ornaments and this would be a really fun option (just for the ladies not to sell). Great to see the kids enjoying sewing, well deon them.

Aw lovely stuff Annie, those memory cushions seem to make me particularly soft and mushy today, don’t know why! My grandparents had a cottage in a village called zenith Weston which turned out to be on the edge of Rutland Water…their £60 mortgaged investment rather paid off when my aunt sold it after they’d died! Lovely area, glad you had such a nice weekend. Like you, I’m thrilled to see your next generation at the sewing machine, such a useful skill, and totally like the old riding a bike theory…you never forget, no matter how long the gap between sewing sessions. The pigs in blankets are brilliant, LOL!
What a lovely post Annie. Heart warming.
The pigs in blankets are a delight and so is seeing the youngsters smiling faces learning a new skill with nana
On our way home shortly from the caravan but just wanted to pop in and see what you’re upto

Totally gorgeous post Annie - love the idea of your "bunch" following in Nanny's footsteps! Fab cushions too. xx Jo

The pigs on blankets are very cute. The sewing machine was a lucky find and so lovely to have the grandchildren involved. Have a great week Angela #7
What a joyful post! So much going on but my favourite is the young sewers! Makes my heart sing! Autumn is with us this week and I adore the many colours it brings. Happy sewing. 💕
The cushions are lovely and so meaningful! Well done for finding such a great machine for the grand kiddos - they certainly look like they know what they are doing - I bet they sew better than I do LOL! I still struggle with straight lines. The piggies look cute! What a great idea for Christmas - in a few years' time each will have a collection of these little ornaments. They might even pass it on to their children from great-grandma! Wouldn't that be precious? Have a lovely week Annie! xx zsuzsa #21
Lol at the pics in blankets! Fab cushions too . Glad there are some schools teaching useful skills (not that it did me much good ) have a fab week keep buzzing xx Helen #2
I don't blame you for getting away if you can just wish I could do the same. Loving the little piggies they are so sweet. That's strange, my cousin sent me a text this week asking about a sewing machine for her daughter, wonder if more schools are encouraging these skills again. This machine that you got is perfect for them to start on and I know they will have fun with it. Have a lovely creative woyww, Angela x14x

Lovely to see the grandees being taught to sew on a machine. Brilliant! Can I come next time please?
Love the pigs in blankets - what a fabulous and festive idea.
Glad you are getting out and about in your mobile - best thing to do when the weather allows it.
Hugs, Neet 5 xx
Glad you enjoyed your time away, that's the beauty of a motorhome, pack up and go when you feel like a break. Love your pigs in blankets better than the edible ones. Please may I have the pattern think they would be great for the local animal charity shop. It's great your grandchildren show an interest in sewing, my daughter is useless because she knew her mum would mend her clothes. Ani
The pigs in blankets really made me smile! Love the photos of your grandchildren hard at work. Happy belated WOYWW. Take care and stay safe. With love & God Bless, Caro xxx (#16)
