WOYWW....

Here we are at the weekly catch up with all out creative friends around the world to expose our desks and share what we've been making during the week.  Last week it was trousers, trousers and more trousers for me and this week....

....yes, there's been more trousers to shorten.  I guess it's what I do being a sewing lady eh?

But this week I've also.....

...made three new Memory bears to remember a very special Dad and posted them to their new home  in Nottingham....I'm conquering the world slowly with my bears :-)

I've also been giving knitting lessons to Phoebe and Lulu.....they were brilliant little students too and were very proud of their achievements.....we're making little bunnies so watch this space [It may take a while yet but I'm sure they will want to show you them when they are finished].

That's all from me for this week.  Next week I may well be missing in action again [depending on the wifi] as we are going on an adventure in the Motor Home and travelling north to meet up with some very special friends....watch this space.
Hugs,
Annie x

  2. My Gran taught me to knit too, Annie, and it remains a relaxing hobby which is easy to do in the moho. The bears were lovely and They will be well loved.

  3. Hello my favourite sewing lady. Nice to see your bears still travelling around. But equally nice to see you passing on even more knowledge to your grandees. They are so lucky to have a lovely gran like you. I think my aunt taught me to knit whilst mum taught me to crochet. Mind you mum taught me lots of things or I wouldn't be me so I have a lot to thank those two lovely ladies for.

  6. Hi Annie, thanks for your kind thoughts and yes a rest is definitely what we need now so went to the Gym this morning! Not sure how that works. It amazes me that people don't know how to alter their own trousers but it's good for business so there you go! Lovely new bears too. The girls are very lucky to have you and I feel sorry for the ones that don't have a grandmother, I know mine taught me lots possible even more about knitting and sewing than my mother. Sending hugs for a happy woyww, Angela x11x

  8. What is it with trousers being too long all the time LOL? I don't think I've ever bought a pair of trousers for my son that weren't way too long for his size. Last year I had to take up 4" of his school trousers! And he's not particularly short - average height, average weight for his age, so why can't manufacturers make clothes that fit average people? This year I only had to take up 1.5 inches - I'm not good at it but I managed! Looks like the girls had lots of fun making their bunnies! Look forward to seeking the finished pieces! Have lovely week, Annie! zsuzsa #18

  9. Those girls are very lucky indeed to have a nanny like you - how fab that crafts are getting passed on, it's so important! I take my crochet down to the RNLI shop for when it's quiet and have taught two ladies as well! Trouser shortening, the bane of my life....once :-)

  10. Hi Annie, altering trousers! I'm sure there are worse jobs but not too many. All I can say is that it's probably the job that butters the bread for many a sewing lady :) Now, the memory bears, that's different. You're clearly on the way to world domination one bear at a time. So nice to see the girls learning to knit - so important to pass down those skills to the next generation. We are so looking forward to seeing you next week - hope the weather cheers up for you too.
