Oh it's been an eventful week here at Sewing by Annie's. I've had lots to make me smiles going on and have also been in the wars when a ladder slipped and landed on the bridge of my nose!....its very tender and bruised but I'm sure I will live :-)
The smiles will be kept for my Friday post so come back to check out what's been making me smile.
On my desk this week are....
I've finished a quilt I was asked to make. My customer and I were able to discuss fabrics via messenger because he isn't local to me so it's exactly as requested including the little robin appliqued on the one corner square.
Here Jo is checking out a parcel of Laura Ashley fabric samples sent to us from Margaret and we have decided to challenge each other to make something with them....just to see what we can each come up with.
For now I am working on another of my Memory bears....this one is being made from stretchy, fleecy, fluffy fabric so it's come with many challenges....and I'm loving making it so far.
Thanks for dropping by today. If you leave me a little message I will do my best to pay you a return visit and if you can then call in on Friday to see what's been making me smile....plus I have a special visitor dropping by today too. :-)
Hugs,
Annie x
I would have worn sparkly lycra if I'd known I was to be your glamorous assistant!! Hope the nose is OK. xxx Jo
ReplyDeleteYou'll have to go back to swinging from the chandelier if the ladder's out of action!! ;-). Seriously, hope your poor old nose is ok, it hurts when that happens. Lovely quilt, such pretty colours but your glamorous assistant needs a feathered headdress next time she's demonstrating!
ReplyDeleteI lol'd at your motor home comment - the are that the camper vans used has now had a height restriction barrier placed to stop them using the car parjk. There were 44 there one weekend and the emergency services were blocked getting through. So you'll just have to come and stay with us!

ReplyDeleteHi Annie, ouch, that must have hurt! Lucky you didn't get black eyes from that. Love the fleecy looking bear. He'll be so cuddly. The quilt is gorgeous, it must be a bit nerve wracking making something when you can only talk to the person via messages! Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #10 X
ReplyDeleteHi Annie. You've not messed around getting that quilt done, I'm sure it was only last week we saw the fabric laying on the desk or is it just that time passes too quickly. Look forward to seeing what you both come up with those samples too. Have a great woywww. Big hugs, Angela x16x
ReplyDeleteoh your poor nose! I look forward to seeing the results of your and Jo's challenge! bet you will both do something brilliant. helen #7

ReplyDeleteHi Annie, I made it over in the end. Look forward to seeing what you and Jo come up with using Margaret's fabrics. Have a good week. Sarah #2
ReplyDeleteYikes Annie, you aren’t supposed to be near falling ladders, ouch. Lucky it wasnt worse, I mean, it oculd’ve knocked some sense into you and then where would we all be?! Seriously, ouch...bags of frozen peas and some repose missus...you’ll probably end up with black eyes too. The real trauma is seeing a bear’s skin just lying on your sewing machine! So that Sarah’s been to yours too huh. Well, hope to rectify my lack of presence at the next crop!
ReplyDeleteoooh! sounds like exciting times are ahead. Love that quilt, so special.
ReplyDeletehave an enjoyable week

P.S Hope to see that little stretchy memory Bear too when completed xx
I might get a little muddled as I am still sleepy and have read your Smile post first.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry about the nose injury, that sounds awful and am sure it is painful and tender. Good job nursey was there and able to deal with it.
Love the quit - so specific with the little birdie.
Great to see Jo and know you two are doing a challenge with fabrics - are there parameters?
Hugs a very late Neet who only arrived home at 3 am and who forgot to ask to be linked. xx 27
Hi Annie. OUCH!!! Hope your nose is recovering!! What an eventful week you have had - and how wonderful to meet up with Lisca. I'm sure she used to be on WOYWW - I know I have commented on her posts many times over the years! The motorhome looks fabulous - enjoy! Hope you and Jo both come up with something really original using those fabric pieces.
ReplyDeleteTake care. God bless.
