This is where the fun starts. Last week there seemed to be so many of you making Christmas cards that I thought I'd best get started so after hours of searching on Pinterest for inspiration and finding nothing that stirred my creativity......
I filled my desk with Christmas fabrics.....but couldn't get inspired to make cards out of any of it so.....
I found a roll of gorgeous gold voile that a good friend [you know who you are....thank you] gave me a while back and using festive ribbons I made several 'masterboards'.
Now that's inspiring isn't it?
I chopped them up and......
Hey presto I've now made my first 40 Christmas cards!!
The Christmas fabrics were still 'calling' me so I searched Pinterest again and I found an idea to make some stars for my up and coming Christmas fayre.
Each one needs four 3"x12" pieces of fabric that you fold into four length ways to enclose the raw edges then with lots of clever folding origami style it makes a star with no sewing required.....just a lot of patience!!
I think they are Scandinavian in origin and I rather like them. What do you think?
That's all from me for this morning. I hope you like my start to Christmas crafting and will leave me a little message so I know you've called in then as soon as I'm able I will do my best to pay you a return visit. Have a fun week folks.
Hugs,
Annie x
I think your stars are beautiful. I like Scandinavian decorations quite a lot, remembering my trip to Denmark years ago.
ReplyDeleteI also like your Masterboard and the resulting cards you have made. Wow you certainly have moved - 40 cards and all those stars. I must get my head down and start.
Thanks for the visit
Lots of Hugs, Neet xxx

Just some adorable "Little Treasures" on your desk. I made similar stars years ago for my craft show. Was a fun project to take along. Loving the beautiful fabric you used for your trees. So unique to give homemade. I miss being good on that new sewing machine of mine. Wish you lived closer, I know you could make my life simpler. Have a great week Annie.
ReplyDeleteHi Annie, I love your motherboard idea - it works for papercrafters so why not for sewists :) And the resultant cards are lovely. The Scandi stars are delightful too. I still want to come and have a rummage through your Christmas fabrics - hope they inspire you soon. Have a happy WOYWW and a great week ahead. Hugs, Ellie x #16

Hi Annie - glad you made good use of the voile - I knew it was going to a good home. The stars are lovely. I think you might be right re their origin, remind of some my Danish friend used to make. Have a happy week. Anne x #22
ReplyDeleteThanks Annie for your lovely comment. Making those small items for the fair in between house clearing after my friend's death has kept me sane. Hope to be back to a near normal life in 2018 as we are nearly through it all now.
