Hello to you all on this Wednesday fun day. We had a lovely Easter weekend....hope you did too.
So? what have I got to share with you today?
My temporary 'to do' rail has had some sewing going on this week...
- A much loved gent's coat on the left edge on the pic needing lots of patching and darning.
- My first bridesmaid's dress for this year....I love the colour :-)
What's this in my knitting basket?....it's not a stress busting house moving knitted square [though there have been a few completed this week! :-) ].
It's the body for a little doll for Margaret over at Glitter and Glue. She put a call out for knitters to help raise funds for her charity by knitting little dolls.....If you can knit and are willing to make her a little doll then please click on her link and check out the details......a free doll pattern is waiting for you there [and it's pretty easy knitting ].
The other pic I'm sharing with you today is one I took of the gorse bushes up over the top of the Stiperstones whilst enjoying a day out with my darling hubby on Easter Monday.....isn't it gorgeous? Such a gorgeous bright yellow and it's everywhere you look.
We went to Brockhampton Estate in Herefordshire....a lovely National Trust property with beautiful grounds and a Medieval house to enjoy. They also had Medieval music and dancing there while we were there.....you could have also joined in with the dancing too if you wanted to :-)
I found this on Pinterest over the weekend.....I'm working on positive thinking to lift the failed house moving gloom....and it's really working :-) It's going to be a good week.
Thanks for calling by today. If you leave me a little hello message to let me know you've called I will pop by to see what you've been up to this week when I get a minute.
Hugs,
Annie x
I am with you on the positive thinking! Glad you enjoyed Brockhampton and the gorse!!! x Jo
ReplyDeleteLoving the colour of the bridesmaid dress. Good luck with the jacket repairs....I hate repairing, x
ReplyDeleteLove the colour too - it's similar to our daughter's prom dress (bought in plenty of time for July!!)
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW :)

Do love the colour of the dress. Beautiful photo of gorse. Glad you are thinking positively!!! I am trying to! Have a great week. Anne #37
ReplyDeleteThat gorse is just gorgeous! Glad you're keeping positive... hoping for good news soon! Helen 5
ReplyDeleteI was reading yesterday that there is an old saying...
ReplyDelete' Kissing is out of fashion when gorse is out of bloom'
...fortunately gorse is never out of bloom...
Oh Annie my heart aches for you but glad you are doing something about it to stop the gloom.
ReplyDeleteLovely work going on and lovely gorse picture. Thanks.
Thanks also for your visit earlier - Hugs, Neet 27 xx
Love your pics of the gorse (I had no idea gorse even existed!). Sending you lots of positive thoughts and a prayer for your move.
ReplyDeleteSandra @20
Glad you enjoyed Brockhampton - I love going there - so pretty. Have a great week, Chris # 19 xx
ReplyDeletePositive thinking definitely helps! You have had a tough time but hopefully the new agent will prove their mettle....
ReplyDeleteHave you got much to do to the bridesmaid's dress? It's a lovely shape, I'm not too keen on these strapless numbers, it always looks like they've got nothing on in the head and shoulders shots!!
Hugs, LLJ 14 xx
PS Glad you're making some dolls, I'm rubbish at doing small stuff like that....sigh
Hullo there Annie so good to see the yellow gorse.. such a happy plant as you say.. and yes lovely blue of gown well done you!! and great job on Margaret's dolls too good to put call out like that..
ReplyDeletebeautiful indeedy! Happy WOYWW Shaz in oz.x #40
PS re sewing had to learn how to draft etc as was odd size but lost lot of weight and now fit into my sisters' expensive "cast offs" so seem to not sew from scratch so much but must say really did enjoy it.. apart from usual unpicking :D
Pretty colors...here it is PROM time and awesome dresses everywhere. Sometimes a walk, on a beautiful day will put life into perspective. Enjoy the beauty surrounding us all.
ReplyDeleteHi Annie, good to see you are staying positive in the face of adversity ... I have my fingers and toes crossed for you in the hope that Spring will buy you a genuine buyer at last! I like the colour of the dress too. We noticed the gorse when we were down in Dumfries and Galloway at the weekend ... there it is actually called Galloway Gorse! The air was full of it's heavenly perfume - bliss! Hope you have a great week. Elizabeth x #39
ReplyDeleteStay positive and strong, love the flowers everywhere they must be a pretty sight. I hope you get that buyer soon for your house, they are just around the corner hopefully.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.
Happy wOYWW

Can you send some of that positivity over here Annie, my mum's house move hasn't gone to plan either. It should have been next Monday but it's not going to happen and she is losing sleep now with not knowing when it's going to be.
ReplyDeleteLynn xx
Love the gorse - when the gorse is in bloom, kissing is in fashion.
ReplyDeleteMy brothers move has just fallen through too - maybe moving is out of fashion?!
Happy Wednesday
