Good morning to all my blogging friends. Last week was rather hectic for me as many of you will already know. We had headed down to a gorgeous B and B near Trowbridge for the week and while we were down there my darling hubby and I met up with some very special friends.
You will have seen this pic on the other blogs but it is such a happy pic I just have to share it too. I'm the beached whale on the left [the weight is going!!!!], next is the love of my life, then Jan, Di and last but by no means least Julia of course. I feel like I've known them for ever and it was really special to meet them all for real....Thank you girls for making me feel so very welcome.
Di came with a bag full of goodies. Just look at the gorgeous candle and magnetic book mark with my fav poppies on and she gave me two advent calendars to make for my grandchildren. Thanks so much Di. You really are a gem.
When we got back from our hols this gorgeous parcel full of goodies was waiting for me all the way from Egypt. I won it over at Roudi's blog and will have lots of fun playing with it....I have already put some of the ribbon to good use in the photo below. Thanks Roudi for pulling my name out.
The other thing I want to share today is a pic of my oldest granddaughter Phoebe on Sunday night....she had to try on her new school uniform for Nanny Annie to see what a big girl she is now....where has that time gone?
My first job on being back at work on Monday was to sew labels on all of Phoebe's school uniform....Oh happy memories of doing the very same job for her mummy, what seems like only weeks ago!
As you can see her uniform is grey with purple cardigans and Amy has really struggled to find hair accessories in purple so of course I spent Sunday morning making her some.....
Here are her newly made hair pretties and of course she needed somewhere to keep them all so I popped over to Louise's blog at Sew Scrumptious for inspiration and I made her a hanger to keep them all safe. Thanks Louise for the inspiration.....and of course thank you to Roudi for just the perfect pink ribbon the make it with. :-) :-)
I had one very happy little girl when she saw it all. :-) :-) :-)
Last but by no means least.....what was on my desk yesterday. It was a full day of planning, printing and cutting of all the components to make the wedding stationery for Mark and Gina's wedding next August.
- 3 guilotines [2 for cutting and 1 for scoring]
- Martha Stewart deep edged lace punch
- 3 fold cards for the invites
- white pearlised paper
- lots of pink card
We started 9.30 and finished after 5 with only a half hour lunch break but we had a lovely girly day full of laughter and tears [Gina shared with me their chosen first dance....it's just perfect].
Life should be full of days like that :-)
Thank you to you all for calling by and leaving such lovely comments. I'm sorry if it's rather a long post but I did have rather a lot I wanted to share :-)
I wasn't able to leave you all comments last week while we were away but I did get to read most of your blogs.....I promise to do better this week.

Fab post this week - so full of smiley things. x Jo
ReplyDeleteOh Annie, aha a glorious week you have had (ok, a bit more than a week then). First the ladies who lunch (plus DD) with Di's gift, then Roudii's blog candy, then Phoebe in her uniform, her bobbles and then the pink prettiness for the wedding. Notice I missed out the name tapes - can not see them really being as pleasurable - ok, then to you they were.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing so much happiness with us.
Hugs, Neet xx 31 ish xx (not age - I wish)
I bet you had so much fun meeting up with them :o) I know I did. It only seems 5 minutes since my eldest started school and he'll be getting his GCSE results tomorrow!

What a fabulous week you have had, it must have been great to meet up with the girlies. And Phoebe must be thrilled with her new hair pretties x
ReplyDeleteWhat a packed week you had! It was fab to meet you both, we had a high old time didn't we??
ReplyDeleteWhat a clever idea that is for keeping all Phoebe's new hair bits and bobs together..very nice indeed. There are some clever people out there! And I'm glad the wedding stationery planning all went well too...
Hugs, LLJ 63 xx
Love your feel good post Annie. What fun to meet up with fellow WOYWWers for real. You remind me I still have the Uniform run to do! I fear it is going to cost me as my 14 year old looks more like 18 these days! Where did my toddler go ? ;-) Happy WOYWW from Helen 71 x
ReplyDeleteThe wedding invites are great - well done for getting them all finished - a long day, but Ooohh! so satisfying.
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful gifts from your day out - glad you had such a good time.

SO much to look at today. The hair tidy carrier thing looks so useful, I'm forever picking those up off the floor.
ReplyDeleteThe invitations are very pretty and it's lovely to start those wedding memories a year in advance by having a special day to make them.

What a fun post, enjoyed the picture and like the look of some bubbly! Celebrated our 8th Anniv and had a little Scotch to relax the stress! So glad you had some fun on your little trip. Thanks so much for taking time to leave comments. It has meant a lot and I feel guilty not getting back to so many. But I think I've a computer up and running now so lets hope I'll be back in blog world. Enjoy, your little granddaughter is adorable.

My goodness, Annie, what a busy time you've been having! How lovely to meet up with such special friends - and your grand-daughter looks so smart in her uniform! I have no grandchildren yet, but I can imagine that name tape sewing must bring back memories! Just a min - why did you land this job a second time round! He-he-he! I love those hair pretties; your daughter is so lucky you are talented enough to make these for Phoebe! Happy WoyWW! Thank you also for the visit earlier! Julie Ann xx #35

Hi Annie! Awe, what a fabulous post! It really made me smile :D Gosh...I remember the sewing-in-labels saga as it seemed to take forever! Seems so long ago now tho. You look fantastic in your photograph. One to treasure I am sure xxx

You can now call yourself a TRUE paper crafter, and you have the invitations to prove it. I bet that saved a TON of money because these would have cost so much if you'd had them done. Then there's the time you got to share with your future DIL, too. That is PRICELESS.
ReplyDeleteOf course, you can't deny your sewing skills, either, as proven by the hair container and clips you made that special Phoebe.
BTW, thanks for dropping by while I slept. Happy WOYWW from #10.
How fun meeting up with friends. Darling granddaughter and a regular assembly line ready to create.
ReplyDeleteSnoop on! Carole #111

ReplyDeleteIt really looks as if you all got along so well, (not surprising, as they are all lovely ladies) I wish i could have been there. Glad you had a lovely trip. I remember Mum sewing our name tags on too... glad I never had children as I really would have been useless at that job!! Have a fabulous week. Helen 8
ReplyDeleteHi Annie
ReplyDeleteit looks like you have had a fun week although i'm not sure the label sewing can be included in that I used to hate that job

What a lot you fit into a week! Love those hair pretties! My eldest grandson goes to High School in September and we have seen him in his uniform - very emotional moment! Where did those eleven years go?? Good Luck with the rest of the invites! Chrisx 128
ReplyDeleteWas lovely to see you all together like that, happy smiley group.
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely gifts too.
Know what you mean about time flying so much. But then you sure do pack plenty into it.

Hi Annie, what a lovely happy post with lots of fab photos too. Doesn't Phoebe look so grown up and proud of her uniform too. And she was sure to be delighted with all those lovely hair clips too. Love the wedding invitations too - lots of work but it does sound like you had fun. Oh, and you are not the only one losing weight ... it is sooooo hard too but I have my granddaughter's wedding to go to in 2015 so the race to lose is on :)) Hope you have a good week. Elizabth x #47
ReplyDeleteHi Annie,

This photo looks great fun and you are beautiful, just dont forget that! Enjoy the long weekend.

Hiya Annie! Lovely post, the card making day sounds as though it went well and sewing labels into school uniforms was not my favourite job! :(
ReplyDeleteApologies for my late arrival of doing the round of WOYWW desks! Annette #6
