This week's smiles....week 24

Here we are on another Friday looking back at the wonderfully happy posts that were linked up to make the world a happier place....and they certainly did that so thank you to each and every one of you who linked up last week.

My featured blog for last week is Kate's over in Spain.  She had so very much in her life that makes her smile .....and I even forgave her for showing me all the wonderful baking that she had baked to share with friends.  Thanks for joining in Kate.....please join in the fun again.

This week I have two little videos to share with you that I'm sure will make you smile.

Here you can see Uncle Mark [my little boy]  teaching Sam his alphabet and he really made us laugh when mark got to the letter i and poked Uncle Mark in the eye.  :-)  Can you tell that learning the body parts came first?

Here you can see him writing his name  :-)  I think having a mummy as a teacher really helps....I'm sure they will be reading and writing before long  :-)

The last pic I just must show you today cos it made me smile so much is this one of the first ripened strawberry of the summer picked in our own garden....here's to many more.

Oh boy did it taste good too :-)

Thanks for popping over to see what's been making me smile this week.  Please look at the world around you and snap a pic or two of your own to link in below and join in making the world a happier place to live.

You really are very welcome to link your pictures any time before next Friday when I will choose my favourite post to feature next week.

WOYWW...

Hello blogging friends.  Here we are at another of my favourite days of the week when we all link up and show a little of our worlds and creative spaces.

I have had another gorgeous ATC this week....I still have 5 I'm waiting for.  If you think you have sent me one and it hasn't appeared in my last few Wednesday's show and tell pics then it's got lost in the post  :-(

This is my gorgeous ATC Delores [Cardarian] sent me all the way from Slovenia.  I really love it Delores and appreciate all the hard work you put in to making it for me.  Thank you so very much x

The other thing I want to share with you this week is this really colourful dress I was asked to alter for one very special new customer of mine.  Isn't it stunning?......and all the more stunning when you see her wearing it....

She is an extremely talented song writer, singer and musician and travels the world performing.  If you would like to hear some of her singing and maybe buy her music then you can find her here on her web site.

I really do make some very special new friends during my working days.  :-)

This Friday afternoon I have a little student coming to pick my brains on running a sewing business [hope she's not too disappointed :-) ].  I love the idea of passing my skills and knowledge on to others so hope she enjoys her visit.

Thanks for calling by today.  As always, if you leave me a little hello message I will do my best to call by to see what you've been up to this week.  I've had two fab days of fun with the twins so today I must knuckle down and get my customer's sewing done.  :-)

Hugs,
Annie x

This week's smiles....week 23

Where did the last 7 days go?  Oh how time flies when you're having fun  :-)

So many wonderful friends joined in this last week and linked up some really fab posts.  To those that joined in for the first time I must say a big welcome....please come back to play soon  :-)

I am featuring Shaz in Oz's blog from last week for the fab video she shared with us of the  Rainbow Lorikeets in her bird bath......such gorgeous bright coloured little birds.  Really wish we had some visiting our bird bath.  Thanks Shaz for sharing your video.

This week has been another fab week with 3 fun twinnie munchkin days and Shell has sent me some wonderful snaps for me to share with you today.....

Lexi was trying out the mug she gave her Daddy for Father's day  :-)

A very special moment between two very special little friends.

I have a feeling he loves that dog.  :-)......and she loves him too.

The other fab snap I'm sharing is this one of Lulu that her mummy sent me while they are away in France on their holidays to tell us what a clever girl she had been.....she had just swam her first width in their swimming pool......that certainly brought a smile to my face cos her mummy loved swimming too and completed her silver swimming award when she was only 6 years old......Obviously Lulu is taking after her mummy. :-)

Thanks for calling by to share my smiles.  Please snap your smiles and link them below and leave me a little hello message.....I do love your comments.

Hugs,
Annie x

WOYWW...

The time flies so quickly at the mo.  It only seems like 5 mins since I was writing my Wed post for last week.
I am still getting wonderful ATCs through my post box and am still expecting more to arrive as yet....some of my swaps couldn't make theirs straight away and it's really lovely to keep getting little surprises through my door when I least expect them  :-)

These are the latest ones I've had....

29.Ros C
30.Kay
31.Nan G

Thanks so much ladies.....each one is made to beautifully and they are all very special to me.

Some of you asked what I was going to do to make a tissue cover for Phoebe to take to school so here is the finished result.....she loved it and is so excited gathering all the things she needs to get ready for school.  She has a very special pink toy cat that she has always carried around with her since she was a baby and was thrilled to bits to see the little cat on her school name labels.

This little garden gnome was one of the gifts my hubby had from Phoebe, Lulu and Steve for Father's day on Sunday.....they said it looked rather like Granddad!  :-)

We inherited a very old garden gnome from my Dad  when we moved in here and usually every couple of years I give him a new coat of paint to spruce him up.  Of course when the new gnome arrived little Albert was feeling rather shabby and neglected so this week I sat him on some newspaper on the breakfast bar in the kitchen and got out my acrylic paints, brushes etc and I got to work

......see I don't just play with fabrics!  :-)

Here you can see little Albert feeling rather proud of his new coat of paint.  He will never be perfect because he is a very old garden gnome but he will always be rather special to me.  :-)

I am just going to finish off with a collage I've made of some of the treasures from our garden at the mo.  Don't you just love nature?

I have a rail full of sewing waiting to be done today.....lots came in Monday while Jo and I were having munchkin fun time.....I'm so grateful to Jo at the mo for all the extra help she is giving me with the twins....she helps me on the extra twinnie days so I can keep the shop open cos believe me when I say the extra pair of hands is needed to do all I try to do at the mo  :-)  No twins today so I will be head down sewing all day but they will be back for more fun tomorrow [and so will Jo].
....Love you Jo xxxx

Thanks for calling by today.  If you leave me a little hello comment I will pay you a return visit when I get a minute.

Hugs,
Annie x

This week's smiles....week 22

Here we are on another Friday looking back at the fab happy posts that were linked up to make the world a happier place....and they certainly did that so thank you to each and every one of you who linked up last week.

My featured blog for this week is Carmen's over at Whoopidoo....ings for her fab pics of the hungry family of starlings....Isn't nature wonderful?  Carmen joins in with 'Rocking my World Friday' where they write a blog concentrating on all the positive things that have happened in the previous week.....what a wonderful thing to do.  Thanks Carmen for linking up with us and sharing your fab photos.

My Friday pics for this week are.....

This one of Lexi and Sam doing their morning exercises  :-)
They are such funny little munchkins and what the one does the other likes to copy.

This snap of Steve that came with the caption....

Remind me...why did I want a boy?

I just love the look of disgust his big sister is giving him.

:-)  The sky's the limit as they say  :-)

And this gorgeous pic of Phoebe trying out her school uniform.  She starts school in September!

Where has that time gone?  She looks so grown up now and it only seems 5 mins since she was born.

I really hope you have enjoyed sharing the pics that have made me smile this week.  Please snap a photo or two of what has had you smiling this week and link it below any time before next Friday.  I will feature the one that made me smile the most when I post my happy pics next Friday.

Before I go I just want to share the other thing that made me smile this week......

Yesterday was my monthly weigh in at the Dr's and I have lost another 6lbs  :-) :-)   That's 18lbs already and I am already feeling the benefits.  :-)

Thanks for calling by.  Please join in and help the world become a happier place to be.
Hugs,
Annie x

WOYWW.....

Gosh these Wednesdays soon come round don't they?

I must firstly say a big thank you to the wonderful blogging friends that have sent me ATCs this week.  So many have sent much more than just an ATC.  I have had gorgeous cards, wonderful messages and an awful lot of love....doesn'st it make you feel good?  Thank you to each and every one of you.

22.Sylvia
23.Vicky
24. Angie
25. Anne
26.Bridget
27. Redanne
28. Shaz

I love each and every one of them cos they are all so different and all are made using the wonderful crafting skills you clever people have got....and of course cos they all included a bit of love from friends.   I really do appreciate all the effort you have put into making them....and of course I still have more to come so I'm waiting by my postbox every morning  :-)

I will be playing catch up again today with my sewing jobs as I have had the munchkins Monday and Tuesday this week [ and they are coming to play Friday too  :-)....aren't I lucky? ].

This is my sewing rail with jobs waiting to be done....

There are 2 pair of jeans needing shortening and a gent's patchwork waistcoat that needs patching by the pocket....don't you just love the colours in it?

You might also notice the last two LillyBo quilts waiting to be posted  to Jo [zart].  I am waiting for big sister Jo to finish her latest quilt then they will all be posted together to Jo [zart] with a few more LillyBo bears.....so look out for your postman soon Jo [zart].

The other job waiting on my desk to me done today is a tissue cover for my eldest Granddaughter, Phoebe to take to school with her in her bag cos she is starting school in September and has a couple of visits there soon.....it's such an exciting time.

I might show you a pic of her all dressed up in her school uniform this Friday if you'd like to pop back to join in the Friday Smile fun.

Well folks, that's all from me for today.  I will pop by at yours to say hello as and when I am able in between my sewing jobs today [or maybe tomorrow.....but tomorrow I also have to fit in a hair cut and a visit to the Dr for my monthly weigh in!!!].  Busy busy days!!

Thanks for popping by....leave me a little hello message so I know you've called by.

Hugs,
Annie x

This week's smiles....week 21

So many of you joined in last week and I must say thank you to you all plus I must welcome TwinkleToes2day for joining in for the first time......please join us again.

This week I am featuring Lynn's blog over at One I made earlier today with her gorgeous photos of little Jacob going to the dentist....not something I like much [it feels very much like a white knuckle ride to me]....but he obviously loves going  :-)  Thanks for sharing them Lynn.  :-)

My happy post for today came about because Shell had sorted out some of the twins teeny tiny prem baby clothes for them to use for their dolls.  It made us all realise just how small they were back then and Shell had a bit of fun putting these pics together for me to share with you.

Do you remember these pics?.......

Little Sam next to a pack of baby wipes to give scale.  :-)  Just 5lb 13oz

Little Lexi was even smaller.  :-)
Just 4lb

I knew those babygrows would come in useful.  :-)

Those were the days eh?....we knew they would be just where we left them  :-)

......not so any more.  :-)

But they will sit and pose for Nanny Annie to snap a pic to send to Mummy when she is working  :-)
....you wouldn't think butter would melt in their mouths would you?

5 mins earlier they were running from one end of the house to the other chasing each other and seeing who could squeal the loudest between their giggles  :-)

Thanks for dropping in to share what has been making me smile this week.  Please look around you and snap a pic of what is making you happy and share it by linking it below.  Lets make the world a happier place to be.

WOYWW....

Hi Folks.  Here we are at 4th Birthday celebrations plus one week  :-)

It's a quick post from me today cos I'm busy busy busy  :-)  I have my two maps to show you where I have sent 35 celebration ATCs to...

My UK friends

Plus so many friends all round the world too.  :-)

I have already had some really gorgeous ATCs from those who asked to swap with me and I have collaged them to share all the wonderful effort that has been put into making them.  I have been really busy with extra shifts with my gorgeous little munchkins so have been unable to email you each personally to say thank you so please accept an apology and my thanks now.  I love each and every one of them and plan to make another display with them when they have all arrived.  Please click on the collages to see them in more detail.

The other thing I have to share with you today is the latest LillyBo quilt I've made.  It was one of those times when all the word around me was filled with sad news and I am a great believer in keeping busy at times like that and doing something very positive.  I quickly sorted out some matching fabrics and the quilt just appeared...as if by magic.....guess I was rather lost in my thoughts.  Isn't it beautiful?  I just love how it's turned out and am certain a poorly little girl will just love it....esp the little doll that I've made to go in the pocket of the bag.....What do you think?

Of course it is made of lots of snippets of my fabric stash so I am entering it for Di's Crafty snippets playground challenge for this week....I haven't been to play there for a while so I do hope the playmates are kind to me.

Thanks for dropping by today.  I have a lot of catching up with sewing to do today but if you leave me a little hello I will pop by when I get a minute to see what you've been up to this week.
Hugs,
Annie x
