Here we are at our weekly round up of the smiles from the week and even though life here is difficult we have lots to smile about.
Louie had an open day to celebrate his birthday with family and friends on Sunday and his Aunty Shell [and family] bought him a pop up fire engine and fireman's outfit....he loved it :-)
Lexi had more dance competitions on Sunday and proudly came away with 3 x 3rds and a 2nd......she really is loving life and we are so very proud of her.
Her twin brother, Sam was awarded the April Student on the Month in Music and in the category of Learning at school....he makes us very proud too.
Of course we also have to have a few funnies to make us smile....and I've found lots this week. I'm sure something here will make you chuckle.
I hope you have all had a great week and have lots of smiles to share with us by linking up below.
Sorry I didn't join in the fun last week. We had been contacted by a paramedic on the morning of Thursday 11th to say my hubby's brother had suddenly died and could we attend his 83 year wife. My hubby is the executor for him and as he was a Civil Engineer and had been working the day before he died [Aged 76!] we now have to sort out his funeral/business etc....so there's lots to do and it doesn't leave a lot of time for creativity.
I have done my best to keep all my customers happy and have managed to do all their sewing and had an hour or so in my sewing room making these...
I had painted all the toppers a while ago and they had just sat on the shelf waiting to be finished so I used it as a bit of distraction therapy and am rather pleased with the results.
That's all from me for today. I will do my best to call in on you asap but please forgive me if I fail this week.
I'm sorry I wasnt able to write a post last week and hope you understand and managed without me.
Thursday 11th we had a phone call in the morning from a paramedic to say my hubby's brother had died suddenly. It was unexpected and was a real shock to everyone especially his 83 year old wife who had found him. My hubby is one of the executors and there is a business to sort out. John was a Civil Engineer and was still working the day before at age 76.....it will take months to sort out.
Saying all that it has also been a week of celebrations....
This gorgeous boy was 2 last week and on Sunday we joined the family for the day in North Wales to celebrate....it was a much needed happy time together.
This beautiful girl was 8 on Tuesday....she's sitting soaking up some rays in the sunshine. She brings us so much love :-)
We celebrated our 42nd Wedding Anniversary on Wednesday....it's on weeks like this one that you really treasure what you have. We make such a good team. Here's to many more happy years together.....I love this photo.
Our garden has been beautiful this week and always makes us smile.
Of course we cant have a Friday without a few smiles and because I was missing last week there are a few more than normal....I hope something here makes you smile.
I was missing last week. We had gone of the first adventure in our caravan of 2024...there are details/pics in my Friday post if you'd like to see more.
On my desk this week are the, now finished, army of frogs for the H J Trust...
I hope they all do well in fighting the battle against cancer in children.
I've had my first order for a school leavers Memory bear for this school year....and have another one coming this week....I wonder how many I will get this year?
In between all the jobs I've done for my customers I have also made this lovely Alphabet wall hanging....I will be selling this to raise funds for the charity.
I'm sure it will look lovely hanging on the wall in a baby's nursery.
I hope you will leave me a little message so I know you've called in and I will pop over to your blog to see what you've been up to this week.
It's been a wonderful week for us....but it's not been spent here at Sewing by Annie's. We have been away on another adventure in our caravan...the first for 2024.
We stayed on a really lovely campsite called Lamb Cottage in Winsford. It was an adult only site and the facilities were spotless. We did have some rain but we also had sunshine and lots of bird song all around us....it was perfect.
We visited Anderton canal lift....it was amazing to watch it working and while we were there we saw two canal boats being dropped to the lower canal and another one lifted up to the higher one.
We visited Quarry Mill [a National Trust property so it was free to us as members]. The grounds were really lovely with lots of places to walk and the old mill was amazing....I was able to see the old looms still working weaving cotton fabric.
We had to visit the Snugburys Ice cream shop whilst there....we had been there before so the visit was compulsory....it's the best ice cream we have ever tasted so be sure to pay it a visit if you are ever in the area.
The bee was 40 foot tall and was very impressive.
Of course it wouldnt be a Friday without a few funnies...and this week I've found lots :-)
I hope you've had a lovely week filled with lots of smiles and you will share them by linking up below.
