Phew! hasn't it been a scorcher? We are just not used to it are we but we have survived it so far with lots of drinks and fans in almost every room and thankfully it's much cooler now.
Louie has been living in just his nappy but was still happy to have Nanny cuddles...he likes to copy me [especially when I poke my tongue out] and is chuckling now...he's such a cutie.
We filled our paddling pool and you can see we weren't the only ones to enjoy the cool water.
We had a tiny visitor yesterday when a baby wren flew in through the patio doors. I was able to pick him up in my sewing room window and have quite a long chat with him sitting on my hand while he recovered before he flew off...don't you just love nature?
Finally here's a few pics I took in our garden yesterday. A lot of the flowers are suffering from the heat but our tomatoes are ripening well now in the greenhouse.
great pic of Louis, I have been living in mostly a baggy tshirt but did have to put trousers on yesterday!!
ReplyDeleteI've seen photos of your fires, the airport runways that are buckled, and the railroad tracks that are bent from the heat. I feel for you. I couldn't live without my AC. I am glad you said it is cooler there now.
ReplyDeleteYou have a plethora of ripe tomatoes and your flowers are still quite stunning.
How nice you were able to revive that baby wren. That was your good deed for the day.
Your funnies were great. I loved the balloon animal, the cat stuck in the tree, and the fat itsy bitsy cat. They were all laugh worthy but those were my faves. Guess you can tell I have a fat cat, too.
Have a super weekend, dear Annie.
What a lovely photo of you and Louis-he looks so calm and alert. Not much sewing here as it’s been too hot for me. Happy weekend.x
ReplyDeleteGreat funnies - you always fine some good ones! xx Jo
ReplyDeleteLovely photo of you and Louis. He looks very calm and content. (of course he would be in Nanny's arms)
ReplyDeleteOh your tomatoes are doing so well!
What a privilege to have a baby wren in your hands. As Elisabeth says: your good deed for the day.
Your funnies were really good, and there were so many. Each one of them really funny. I do identify with the lost granny. In the States they always talk about north and south, and I don't have a clue where north and south are. Americans all seem to know that.
Have a lovely weekend,
Jugs,

Hi Annie, I am here just got distracted yet again. We can't get through the park now without everyone wanting to see Daisy and then we needed to give her a bath and then.....well you know what I mean Lol! This heat has been unbearable for us and the dogs. Little Daisy was being sick so we wrapped her up in Maisie's old cooler coat and she hasn't been sick since so it had to be the heat. Lovely photo of you and Louie and gorgeous Milly too. You're right nature is wonderful and laughed the funnies. I can relate to Snoopy! Have a great weekend, hugs Angela xXx
ReplyDeletewe're hitting 100 today in Colorado, unfortunately not unusual this year. Plus being over a mile high, the atmosphere is thin and the sun is broiling. We will need to hide from it! Your flowers are still lush, and I am totally jealous of the tomatoes which will not grow for us here in the city of Aurora, too hot.
ReplyDeleteI love birds and watch youtubes of people forming relationships with wild birds they rescued. We have three that have come back each summer to sleep on our front porch, for three years now... love...

It must be hard for babies to regulate theirtemperature in so much heat, but little Louie looks quite happy. I remember when our Michael was born in Cyprus mid-summer we had to keep a little cotton vest on him because he was so slippery in our hot, damp hands I was afraid I would drop him!
ReplyDeleteThe paddling pool looks a good idea and Milly seems to agree.
Your garden is lovely as ever, and I love the smell of those home-grown tomatoes.
Sorry I am so late posting today. The heat has addled my wits I think. Kate xx
I thought I commented before ;) ... But I am admiring all your skills to sew the quilts are looking both cute and amazing. ( I jbiw tgat Garfield hehe - yeah too hot to move) We have today in Denmark 17 C degrees at the writing moment - Først day af the heat. Your little grandchild is so cute. He has a great grandmother for sure.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing
Have a great week !!
