This week's smiles....week 413

It's rather a different post from me for this week.  Today we will be saying a final goodbye to our blogging friend Shaz.  We have over the 11 years, that I've known her, shared many smiles and I don't think I've ever seen a photo of her not smiling so although today will be a very sad one we will all have happy memories of Shaz to focus on.  Doug asked me to make memory bears for all the close family members from her stunning black wedding dress and red velvet cape which I found an emotional job to do but was thrilled with the bears that resulted. Doug also asked myself, my hubby and my big sister Jo to attend her funeral today...and of course we will be there.

Goodbye dear friend...I'm sure Heaven is a much more glittery place with you in it.

I am just going to leave you with a photo I have taken of the hyacinths in the far corner of our garden...

Aren't they gorgeous and the smell is amazing...except they trigger off my asthma [hence why they are in the far corner of the garden].  I quickly held my breath to take this photo for you...and still came in the house with steaming eyes and coughing lol.

Please feel free to share your smiles by linking up below.

Hugs,

Annie x

  1. Dear Annie, just stopping by to say I will be thinking of Doug, the family and everyone on this sad day of final farewells. I never had the blessing of meeting Shaz but I really wish I had. Heaven will sure be a glittery place now. Stay strong & take care of each other.

  2. I was surprised to see this tribute to Shaz so long after she died. It truly would have been a beautiful funeral. She was such a loving and lovely person. However, I am both delighted to see her smiling face and saddened to have to say one final good bye. Thank you for this.

I'll be by to visit everyone else after I am back home today. Have a great Friday and weekend, dear.

  5. Thinking of and praying for all who loved our dear, specially precious Shaz today, as you all take time to remember a truly wonderfully generous kind loving lady!
Am so grateful and blessed to have met her and Doug, and you dear Annie, and Jo and your hubbies too! How utterly memorable!

I’m so glad you’re able to go today too, dear Annie. Sending load of hugs your way.

I haven’t blogged much this year, only done one since we all remembered Shaz on WOYWW some weeks back. Yes, Shaz has her lovely smile and also in my photos of that last WOYWW post
Wrote a WOYWW post this week then blogger ate the lot. No idea why .. too tired to redo.
it’s so unstable at the moment lost some of current post, too.
Thanks for Sharing, God bless and keep you safe, and all those you love, hugs Shaz in Oz.x

  6. I-m thinking of all of you this morning. It must have been very special for you to be able to attend the funeral. I watched it via the link and it was very moving. The lady did a wonderful job of the tribute. I was hoping that Doug might say something but I suppose he is too upset.
Unfortunately we didn't get to see the photos shown on the screen. It would have been easy for whoever doing the streaming to switch to 'screen'. Never mind, I have probably seen all those photos anyway.
Your hyacinths are beautiful. What a shame you are allergic.
    Have a lovely weekend,
    Hugs,
    Lisca

  11. That's lovely Annie - so glad we were able to be there with Doug and his family to celebrate Shaz's life. He did a great job and let's hope it won't be too long before we WOYWWers can all be together, raise a glass and remember with him. xx Jo

  12. I feel for you today. It can't have been easy. I didn't know Shaz well, though we exchanged comments a few times when I was joining in with WOYWW. My thought are with all her craft-world friends. everyone says nice things about her. She must have been a lovely lady.
Your hyacinths are such a beautiful colour. i am sorry you have a bad reaction to them. I know how difficult that can be. Kate x

  15. A lovely tribute to Shaz, Annie. I am so thrilled that Doug asked you to make the memory bears from Shaz's wedding dress. I can imagine how emotional that must have been for you, but what beautiful keepsakes for all the family.
