This week's smiles ....week 409

It's been a week of mixed emotions with losing our dear friend Shaz but I just know she would say that life must go on so now is my time to focus on what's made me smile this week.

Firstly we have invested in a treadmill and I have used it every day this week....I've started slowly and increasing a little each day....it's got to be good for me.

Tuesday my darling hubby had his Covid vaccine and I have mine later today...so there must be light at the end of the tunnel.

Sam has always enjoyed drawing so for his birthday we bought him proper pencils and sketch book.  He's been putting it to good use and this week he sent me a photo of the latest drawing he had done.  He's been learning to shade and I really think this is brilliant.

I'm certain dogs pick up on our moods because Milly has needed to be close to me this week.  I was sat sewing so she couldn't get on my knee so she has sat across the gap between the settee and my chair with her head on the arm of my chair....I love her so much.

In the far corner of our back garden we have a pile of old logs and our wormery and our snowdrops have been blooming their hearts out...they seem to have shot up everywhere this year and always make me smile being the first signs of Spring....my favourite time of the year.

Finally here's a few funnies to make you chuckle...

I hope you have found something to make you smile and will share the things that have been making you smile by linking them below....everyone is welcome.

I would like to send my love to Lisca and her hubby out in Spain. Lisca's hubby is in hospital waiting for surgery so I really hope that comes soon and he makes a good recovery afterwards.

Hugs,

Annie x

  1. Wow, Sam is amazing. Did he actually draw that fish and boat? He is going to be great.

I saw your note about Shaz and was so saddened to read this. She was such a wonderful person. I hope there is someone to look in on Doug during these times.

Have a great Friday and weekend. I'm off to bed then I'll be around to visit everyone.

  2. It's so sad about Shaz, isn't it. I wrote about it in my previous blog (with photo of her) . She will be missed.
Wow Sam is quite the artist! I am very impressed. You must be so proud of him.
Milly is gorgeous and so affectionate. They say that dogs pick up your mood.
Snowdrops for you are what almond blossom is for me: a sure sign spring is on it's way.
I laughed at your funnies. And especially the Japanese one as I didn't read all the Japanese and jumped to the punchline thinking: I'm not going to read all that!
Thank you for your good wishes at the bottom, we hope to hear something soon.
    Have a lovely weekend,
    Hugs,
    Lisca

  3. Well, done you on getting a treadmill. I use one at the physiotherapist I go to. They have a little gym for patients. I just watch the telly while I’m using it and soon get through the time.
Good luck with the jab today. I had a bad head and was exhausted so nodded off on the settee all the next day. I’m fine now Annie, just decided that you are going to take it easy for a couple of days.
Awh lovely Milly, yes they definitely do pick up on our moods. What a lovely comfort she is for you.
I’m gobsmacked at Sam’s shading and drawing skills. There’s an artist in the making there, definitely.
Your cartoons made me chuckle especially the sex one haha
    Lots of love

  5. I'm well impressed with the progress Sam is making with the shading he obviously has a good teacher. Milly looks comfy and dogs do pick up on things, they know a lot more than we think, she obviously knows it's been a sad week for us all. Spring is definitely on it's way. I think they decided to work on the park in the winter so as not to upset the wildlife too much but we have had one of the wettest winters here and the way they're going I'm not sure they'll be finished before the swans start to breed again. Loving the funnies too. Have a good weekend. Hugs, Angela xXx

  6. Sam’s drawing is very good and he looks really pleased at what he’s drawn. I could do with some of the hipposuction, that’s for sure!

  7. You have a great little artist on your hands there. That picture is very good, and excellent for someone of Sam's age.
You are right that the animals can sense our moods. Little Milly is such a sweet companion.
It's lovely to see all the snowdrops. It is amazing how they grow under the ice and snow isn't it.
Very sad to hear about Shaz. I didn't connect with her often but we have exchanged comments on craft blogs on occasion.
Looking forward to Spring, with more freedom and happier times. Kate x
