This week's smiles....week 306

Another week has passed and, as always, I'm chasing my tail with work.  I'm in the middle of making 6 Memory bears with a further 6 due through my door at any point so it's a quick round up of smiles this week....

At the weekend Amy, Dave. their 3 children plus their friends with their 2 boys had a couple of nights at the Welsh coast and yes it was cold and windy but it didn't stop these 5 donning their coats, hats, wellies and gloves to enjoy fun on the beach and making a sand castle....the weather never gets in the way of their fun and that always makes me smile.

On Wednesday night Lulu went to a birthday party which included pony rides....of course she had a wonderful time and would really like one of her own now. :-)

It's been really cold here lately and we have treated Milly to a waterproof coat....here she is trying it on and she seems very happy with it.

Yesterday morning was the coldest day of the year here and the ground outside was frozen hard but just look at the tulips shooting up through the gravel....isn't nature wonderful?

And finally I saw this on Facebook this week and for a moment thought it was Jo's dishwasher....she has so much wool I thought she had been hiding it again :-)

I hope you have found something here that has made you smile too and will now link up to your own smiles below.

Have a good week and stay warm and safe wherever you are.
Hugs,
Annie x

  1. What fun this week, The children looked happy. I'm always surprised how extreme temperatures don't seem to bother young people.

Milly looks surprisingly happy, too. I know many dogs seem to resist those coats until they get used to them.

Had to laugh at Lulu and wanting a pony. Aren't they the ones with the large dog? She already HAS a small pony!!!

Hope you have a great rest of Friday and a super weekend. I had a good laugh at the yarn stash!

  2. You made me smile this morning. Just looking at the children on the beach in the cold weather. They don't seem to feel the cold. I remember when I was small we used to play outside in all weathers and we never complained.
Milly looks very smart in her new coat. I hope she gets used to it. But really it's you that needs to wrap up when you have to walk her in all weathers.
Lulu on the pony made me smile too. As did Elizabeth's remark about the large dog, lol.
As for the yarn in the dish washer...that is a good idea if you have a husband who won't go near the dish washer. Very funny.
I'm glad your memory bears are going well. Are all you customers local? or do also you sell via etsy or something (Facebook?)
I hope you are keeping well in spite of all the bugs going round. It's that time of year...
    Have a good weekend,
    Hugs,
    Lisca

  3. The photos of the children at the seaside bring me joy-I would have been that child! To this day, winter at the seaside is my favourite time. We also have bulbs peeping up and are hoping they will survive the frost. Are you sure Milly likes her coat? She’s got that long suffering face my daughter used to have when presented with a new garment by well meaning relatives😂 Keep warm!

  4. Fab photos of the family - and Milly of course! I really do need to use my dishwasher - can you think of anywhere else I can hide it - lol xxx Jo

  5. The dishwasher made me smile, but I would need more space than that to hide my wool stash. Fortunately Chris seems to accept it, so I have a big crates on double tier shelving in the garage to store mine.
Aren't children amazing. They are so resilient in all weather. It is lovely to see them enjoying time on a wintry beach together.
I hope your tulips stay strong in this weekend of freezing weather. It is amazing how they can withstand the frost. They don't like our sun at all. I have managed to grow a few rather weedy looking daffodils, but not tulips at all.
I never felt the need to put a coat on our dogs, even in UK. But the ones we had there were sort of outdoor dogs, and always slept in a kennel, so they were used to the cold. But a little girl like Millie who is accustomed to a centrally heated house, is probably glad of a jacket when she goes out for a walk. She certainly looks quite happy to be wearing it.
I hope you managed to get all your bears made on schedule. Hugs Kate x

  6. Hi Annie, pleased to see Milly enjoying her new jacket. Maisie and Stan like theirs once you catch them and put it on Lol! Pleased to see you keeping busy and the children enjoying themselves. The sun has come out here and the frost has gone and thank goodness no snow. I'm off to see Mrs D this afternoon to see what they've been up to. I'm guessing whoever hides yarn in their dishwasher obviously don't use it for pots! Take care and stay warm. Sending hugs, Angela xXx

  8. Nice to see everyone out and about and doesn’t Miss Milly look just wonderful in her new coat.
My mum once discovered a piece of my brother’s motorbike in the oven, so she presented it to him with roast potatoes, veg and gravy for his Sunday lunch. We were hysterical laughing but he wasn’t amused xx
