As we creep ever closer to the big day my sewing seems to be piling in through my door and guess what?....I took a long weekend off to go to Centre Parcs with my darling hubby, Mark Gina and little Theo....just what the Dr ordered if it wasn't for the long walks needed to get everywhere. I must say though that I took my walking stick with me and I managed most of them. I have photos to share but I will keep those for my Friday Smiles Post so please call back on Friday and why not join in the fun by linking up your own smiles too....all are welcome.
So on my desk today is....
The latest 4 completed bears, made to hold special memories for 4 young children who lost their daddy far too soon....I really hope they will help them to get through their first painful Christmas without him.
Meet Mooshie Rabbit. He has come to be fitted for a blue onsie with a shark fin on the back!.....Don't I get some challenges?
The outfit is actually for Rabbit who Mooshie was bought to replace if Rabbit was lost...but of course he never will because Rabbit is now well 'loved' and looks nothing like Mooshie :-)
I hope to complete the challenge later today so, if I remember, I will try to show you a pic of him next week.
On my sewing machine are the next three Memory bears awaiting completion. I am expecting another one later today and several more are coming tomorrow.....all wanted for Christmas!
Along side all this I do hope to finish my Christmas cards and get them in the post and to finish the peg people for the Grandchildren to hang on their trees this year......busy busy busy. I do plan to get round as many of you as I can later.....but that may mean in the next day or so. :-)
Hugs,
Annie x
I am sure you will get it all done... somehow! who needs sleep anyway..... Loving the latest memory bears and I hope they bring the young children some comfort. Helen #1
ReplyDeleteWh would have thought those Memory Bears would have taken off like they have? How lovely for those four little ones to have something to cuddle to remind them of Daddy - makes you realise that Christmas can be so sad for some people.

Well, I'm really glad that you had some time away, how lovely to spend time with the family and recharge your batteries a bit. Blimey, you are busy with all the sewing - the shark fin onesie did make me laugh though, I'd like to see the 'after' pics for that!!

ReplyDeleteYou are busy Annie, but take your own advice won’t you...it’s not life and death and it’s only one date on the calendar, please don’t overdo it! a weekend away sounds perfect to me, even though you think it’s badly timed, it really feels like an oasis in all the hustle and bustle doesn’t it, glad you had a good time, despite the long walks...ouch. Am smiling gently at your latest challenge, good lord the stories you get!
ReplyDeleteHello Annie. The bears for the children are so lovely and I hope that they do indeed bring comfort. I am struggling to catch up with everything but am trying not to stress - though have to admit not sleeping well. Glad you got away for a while, Take good care of yourself. Anne x #21

Had to stop by the WOYWW day and play catch up. Hope things are going well for you. Time ...wow where and how much faster can it come and go. I am really behind with all the things that go with Christmas. But am excited to have my son and family come home this year. We all will do a Skype call with the other one who lives so far away.
