On my desk today are just my Christmas cards ....I'm getting them ready to post so nothing very exciting there to share with you.
Why have I no exciting sewing going on? Well, just look here....
This is the view through the door in my sewing room! In just 2 days we have had over 10" of snow which has shut local schools and businesses so you can see why I've had no customers this week so far.
But I will share the bears I've been making since I shared my desk last....
Three beautiful colourful bears made from silk cravats with their own silk bow ties....aren't they special. I love the fact that no two of my bears are the same.
I love this little bear too. I had to reduce the size of a tie to fit him, make him a pocket and a little hat too....Isn't he fab?
Saturday saw me and my gorgeous hubby trudging through the snow to get to the craft fair at Ford village hall that I had a table at. There was supposed to be 17 stall holders but I was one of only 5 who made it. Surprisingly though I sold enough to cover my table costs, gave out lots of fliers, met some really lovely people and had an order for another Memory bear....and my advert is going to be put in the village news letters so all in all it was well worth the effort to get there....and a big thank you to my darling hubby for all his help and support in the bad weather.
And this was the Memory bear that resulted from the craft fair....it's a school bear for another of the local schools that I'd not made one for up to now so hopefully more orders will come in.
There you go from snowy Shropshire. I hope you are all keeping warm and staying safe if you have snow too. Please leave me a little message so I know you've called in and I will do my best to pay you a return visit when I can....I'm sorry to say I didn't do very well with visits last week due to my work load.
Hugs,
Annie x
Hi Annie, I did think of you and the craft fair on Sunday with all that snow! It was bad enough our way, so goodness knows what it was like yours. My hubby works in Telford and has worked from home the last two days as it would have taken him two hours or more to get to work. Glad you managed to cover your costs and that you got some business from the fair. Keep safe and warm. Sarah #12
ReplyDeleteGoodness, you did have a huge fall of snow! I saw from the tv reports that Shrewsbury was badly hit so well done you for getting to the craft fair (and for selling stuff too!). The snow came to about 30 miles north of us but we escaped pretty much unscathed, though it was persihingly cold. Just as well really, as I've been out every night playing with one band or another!

Hi Annie. You did well re the Craft Fair- I did wonder if you would make it. We have not been out since Saturday. had lots of snow like you and our road is unmade, not a lot of traffic and so it has been impossible to get out. Messed up a lot of our plans :-( but we were safe and warm and I have been able to craft and catch up with things, Love all the bears. Anne x #15
ReplyDeleteHi Annie, well that snow is very very pretty but I’ve lived in snow country when much younger, and know how cold that is!!!!
ReplyDeleteWell done on still getting to the fair and making some good contacts. Love the second best with its ultra cute hat and tie, he’s got attitude!!!

ReplyDeleteWow, you certainly got hit with the snow! I knew some parts were bad but 10" is an awful lot. Great for snowmen but not for ordinary ones. Hope dh got to work ok.
ReplyDeleteLove the fact that you did alright with your fair and got an order for a memory bear. Those cravat ones are lush and I love the other little bear - so cute
Hugs and thanks for the visit to mine, Neet 4 xx

ReplyDeleteThought of you when I saw the reports of Shropshire being hit hardest with the weather so knew you'd be in the region. It does look gorgeous though, doesn't it?!!
ReplyDeleteHappy for you that the fair went well and your special bears are becoming more and more famous.

Hi Annie, you really did get hit by The snow! I'm glad the fair was a success for you. Your bears are beautiful. Have a lovely week, Heather #6
ReplyDeleteHi Annie, so glad the craft fair was, in essence, such a success despite the snow. I hear so often how disappointed our fellow crafters have been with fairs after all the preparations they've made. And so pleased that you picked up an order for another of your gorgeous memory bears. Have a wonderful week ahead. Hugs, Elizabeth x #23
ReplyDeleteI do so love the bears - so lovely to see youre still making them since my last visit in July. The silk-cravat bears are GORGEOUS!
ReplyDeleteI know it's a terrible inconvenience when it does arrive, but I do so wish we had snow like you have way down here in Southampton.
Have a wonderful week,
Bubbles

Hi Annie, we've had snow but not as much as you. The rain has washed it way but not sure what will happen over night. Lovely bears you've made. Have a lovely and creative woyww, Angela x12x
ReplyDeleteYour bears are gorgeous as usual! The blue and white bear is striking! Good for hubby, to take up the challenge of getting you to the craft show despite the snow (sometimes they need a challenge like that to get them going! I know mine does!) Have a wonderful week, Lindart #27
