WOYWW....

Hi all.  Many thanks to all who called by here last week....I think I managed to call in on you all but if I didn't leave you a message then I'm sorry....I will try to do better this week.

On my desk today is a pile of babygro bits.

The last customer to collect her Memory bear said she didn't want the left overs and you know me....I hate waste so I have sat and snipped out any pieces that might be usable.  She was thrilled with the little bear I made for her....they are proving very popular and I love making them.

I've also been working on the idea I shared with you last week.  I now have several bears in stock made in different colours and these three are now dressed in their finery ready for a wedding.....I thought they would make nice gifts for little bridesmaids or page boys especially if using fabrics to match the wedding.

The only other pic I'm sharing with you today is this one.  I've been asked if my new header is of a flower in our garden so I thought I'd share this pic to say yes it is but I'm sorry I don't know what it's called.  I love how it changes colour over the weeks and this morning the spiders had decorated it with cobwebs for me...isn't it pretty?

Of course Milly had to get in on the photo....just love her to bits. :-)

Please leave me a little message and I will do my best to get over to yours later....I've got a special friend calling in today to pick her sewing up so not sure what time I will get to call.
Hugs,
Annie x

  1. Love the bears Annie! I think your plant is a Sedum, also known as Stonecrop. There are over 600 varieties, this one might be 'Autumn Joy'. I used to have it in a previous garden and your description ties in so well with the description I just found, right down to the sparkly cobwebs!

Flowers form large domes of bluish green, pink and finally red. Sedum 'Autumn Joy' has superb foliage of a beautiful green all season and an interesting sculptural shape in winter. (It is really effective when adorned with frozen spiders' webs finely sprayed with dew!)

    Happy Wednesday!

    Hugs

  2. Yes it is a Sedum Annie, I've got one as well. Milly looks like she is on a mission to help her mum with the photography haha. She is so gorgeous and so are the Bears.

  3. Ready and waiting to meet up again. Have ~I now given the game away?
Love your little bears, they are a good idea and am sure even some teenage girls would love them so they could be dressed in remnants from a favourite dress or something. A male and female would be lovely as an engagement gift tooSee you
    Love to all (especially Milly)

  4. Gorgeous colours on that sedum - I meant to comment when you first put it up. I like that fact that insects find it irresistible too :-). Have fun today with that Neet, give her a hug from me!

  7. Hi Annie, I'm with the others, it's a Sedum, as well as Stonecrop, it's often commonly called an Ice Plant- no idea why. Loving all your bears, they are sure to be treasured for many years by their new owners. Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz #6 xxx

  12. So you don't need me to tell you it's a sedum! I love mine, it needs no help, no tweaking, no pruning, it just grows and displays. Love it. And of course, I'm so happy to see the bare bears in finery.

  13. Hi Annie, you can't imagine how pleased I am that the business is doing so well. As a retired Textiles teacher it thrills me that people are able to make a living out of these skills. I had many pupils who continued to use their skills when they left school despite it being a constant fight to convince the senior management that these subjects where worth including in the curriculum. Schools find them expensive to fund so often prefer not to offer them. Have a great woyww and happy crafting, Angela x 19

  14. Your bears are so cute I could hug one right now! The sedum is beautiful but I could live without the spiders (although the webs are cool).

  17. Love the bears too! I used to make dolls and bears when the kids were little and made so many of the Cabbage Patch babies one year I burnt myself out. Every time I delivered one to someone at work I would go home with an order. I love the garden pic. I have some sedum but it doesn't grow nearly as tall but the flowers look a lot like those but white. Thanks for visiting my desk earlier and leaving a comment. Have a great week! Vickie #2

  19. Cute idea with the precious bears. And those leftover pink pieces are divine. I think the spiders arrived just in time for Halloween. Have a great week Annie. Computer problems with downloading photos, so didn't play this week, and LOTS of busy stuff happening.
