Hello folks. Here we are at another Wednesday....one of my favourite day's of the week when we all catch up with our crafty friends from all round the world by linking up over at Julia's. It's so lovely to see what we have all been up to each week by checking out what's on everyone else's work desks.
Here's mine for this week....
To the one side and on my sewing machine is a table runner I'm making for my son and his wife for their Christmas table.
Isn't it a lovely tartan fabric?
Over the other side of my sewing room and on my overlocker is a very special dress that I am working on for a very talented lady called Picklelily. She is a magician and children's entertainer.....please click on her link to find out more. She was the entertainment at my Granddaughter's birthday party [and all the children really loved her] and while there we got chatting as in a previous life I used to work with a magician. :-)
I have two dresses to alter for her and some very special table cloths for when she enters a competition for children's entertainers in Blackpool early next year....of course I'm sworn to secrecy as to what I'm doing for her. ;-)
There is never a dull moment here at Sewing by Annie's. Work is really picking up now and there is never two days the same......I'm buzzing.
I'm not the only one loving my new sewing room....as you can see Rocky loves to sit on his cushion by my door to keep me company and stand on guard and keep me safe :-)
That's all from me for today. Please leave me a little comment to let me know you've called by and I will do my best to return the favour.
Have a great week.
Hugs,
Annie x
So glad things are on the up! Love those spotty dresses. x Jo

Ooh, that tartan table runner is going to be fabulous when it's finished - I love the look of tartan at Christmas - what a wonderful idea. And how intriguing and interesting it must have been working for a magician - did you ever get sawn in half (and did it hurt!). Love your blog post this week, especially Rocky - what a little cutie he is!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week,

Hi Annie, sewing room looks good and still very tidy, wish my work rooms were, maybe one day Lol! Rocky looks comfy and what a sweetie he is. Thanks for the visit to mine and happy woyww, Angela x 19
ReplyDeleteThat tartan does look fab, I'm sure it will make a lovely table runner...though with the amount of fabric you have been supplied with I suspect you can knock up kilts for all the family - you could be like the Von Trapps!! I can see you all sat round the Christmas table singing "Doe a deer, a female deer..." :-). I'm glad your sewing room is now a peaceful haven for you and Rocky, hopefully the rest of the house will follow suit soon. Looking forward to a visit soon. Happy crafting, Max x
ReplyDeleteNow that tartan fabric for the runner looks super - much nicer than the scraps from the pyjamas I was using last week. Good luck with the magician outfits. Woof to Rocky xxx Jackie 18
ReplyDeleteLoving the pretty plaid table runner. And a smile looking at that cute little Rocky. They are always a best friend. Pretty soft snow arriving here, but to be in the 40's all week so it won't last. Great as I need to go to the city to finish my shopping. Enjoy a wonderful WOYWW kind of day.
ReplyDeletethe red fabric with white dots just fits the name Picklelily. Vicky(#1)
ReplyDeleteOh good, work is picking up. People now know you have a new craft room (with a tradesmen entrance)
ReplyDeleteThe tartan table runner is lovely. And I hope we will get to see (eventually) what you have made for the lady magician.
Have a good week,

Hi Annie, how wonderful that you are so busy. I do love the tartan fabric, what a lovely runner that will make. Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz #4 xxx
ReplyDeleteThat tartan fabric is perfect for christmas it's very festive. So interested in the costume secret will look forward to that post happy woyww hugs Nikki 9
ReplyDeleteOh wow, how fabulous making items for a magician!! That doesn't happen very often but I bet that she is happy that you can make what she needs. I love Rocky sitting there supervising :-)
ReplyDeleteHugs, LLJ 7 xx
The tartan table runner is going to be gorgeous! Glad you are getting busy now your fabulous room is ready!
ReplyDeleteI hate technology too, it scares me! A friend from work is coming to help me set up the new one after work, probably tomorrow. She helped me get the hard drive sorted and I've copied all my files over ready! Helen 3
Hi Annie, it's a late visit but just had to take a minute to see what you have on your desk. Of course, I love the tartan and think it will make a very festive table runner and I love the spotty fabric you are working on for Picklelily ... what a great name for a children's entertainer :) Rocky keeps you company and Bonnie keeps me company - we are well guarded, are we not? Thanks for your earlier visit. I hope you manage to get through your workload without too much stress. Hugs, Elizabeth x #41
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you are so busy Annie and not a curtain to be altered in site, phew!!!!
ReplyDeleteLove that tartan runner, that's going to set the christmas table off a treat.
Rocky looks very contented in his new space.
Thanks for visiting already

Look forward to seeing the finished runner. It's cold, wet and generally miserable here today. But yesterday I embroidered on a flannel for the first time and made a heart 2015 hanger for a friends son's new little sister. I forgot to take photos though. :(
ReplyDeleteRocky is so cute - what a lovely little protector you have there.
ReplyDeleteLove the tartan - so evocative at Christmas time, if I had the money to do it I would start all over and have a tartan tree.
Mmm... can see you as the magician's assistant, now you can be the secret stitcher for a while - hope she does well in Blackpool.
Hugs - From A Very Late Neet xx
