Well, where does the time go? It only seems like a day or so ago that I was posting my smiles for last week. Many thanks to all who joined in yet again last week. It's so good to see so many of you with such lovely smiles to share. I know it does me good to spend a little time each week focusing on the happy moments in my life and I'm really hoping you all feel the same.
I would like to feature my 'much older' sister's blog this week. We enjoy many smiles together as I'm sure many of you can imagine. We both have fairly wicked senses of humour and her smile for last week certainly is one occasion when she made me chuckle.....of course I did suggest she should have ironed the creases out before snapping her pic but I'm sure none of you will have gone in for a closer look to have noticed them! :-) Thanks for making me chuckle Jo....love you lots and really can't wait til you get settled into your new home just 5 mins away :-)
My smiles for this week have been many....I am so blessed. I'm sharing just a couple of them with you that I managed to get snaps of...
There was a visit by a Minion at the playschool Easter fair that my youngest daughter helped organise last Saturday. As you can see he was a big hit with our two little granddaughters and their Grandad. :-) I was so very proud of all the efforts our daughter, Amy put in to organise the event and was thrilled with the huge amount of funds raised for their playschool.
Here are a few more little treasures we've found in our new back garden....a few little cowslip plants have been making me smile.
I have also snapped a few pics of some mystery plants that have popped up in the garden too.....come on all you expert gardeners out there can you help with the names of these so I can read up on what I need to do with them? [you should be able to click on the pics to get a closer look if you need to]. Are they some sort of lily maybe?
That's all from me for today. Please snap a few of your smiles for this week and link them below so we can all share yours too.
Hugs,
Annie x
OMGOSH!! YOU didn't show a photo of twins this week (GRIN). The one week I thought you would. These gals sure have fun with their grandfather and you, don't they. And yes, you can truly be proud of that daughter Amy for going above and beyond. Gosh, I wonder where she learned that from. HMMMM.
ReplyDeleteSorry. I have NO idea what your mystery flower is. If something comes up in my garden, chances are, I have no idea what it is, either. Unless it's a rose, I am pretty helpless when it comes to flowers. I love them, and try to grow a few, but roses are about the only flower I can usually identify.
Thanks for featuring me this week. When you find out what your mystery plants are, save me a few for my new garden!!! Yahoo!
ReplyDeleteThe droopy bud made me think frittalaria but that's just a guess. Hoping for a more successful link up this week, sorry about last week! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm a layover from WOYWW..that cushion is just grand, I'd like to be there when he receives it! Loving the minion visit, they really are taking over the world in terms of smiles...perfect place for them here then!
ReplyDeleteDidn't Amy do well, as Mr Brucie would say...she deserves a Brucie Bonus, but I shudder to think these days what that might have been!! I would have loved to have met a Minion. As you can tell by my FB I do rather like them!
ReplyDeleteAhhh I had the same idea a Laura with the plant but I would no way have attempted to spell it!!
Happy Friday.
xx
Those Minions do seem to pop up everywhere and they are hugely popular with young and old alike. I just love cowslips. As a child we used to gather armfuls of them to make posies for Mothering Sunday, but they are protected now so you can´t pick the wild ones. I pretty sure your mystery plant is a fratillary. It´s flowers should have checkered petals. Isn´t it fun discovering what is growing there!. Hugs. Kate x
ReplyDeleteFritillaria meleagris - a snakeshead Fritillary - as Kate says above it should have checkered petals. Lucky you.
ReplyDeleteI agree that the plant is defo a fritillaria... snakes head fritillaria. I love them as they are so different. How wonderful that DS jo will soon be settled so close to you.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend. I'm off to meet up with Dolores Cardarian in Derby to join Donna for a leaving do before she departs our shore to live in La Belle France.

I was just about to say that your plants are the wonderful snake's head fritillaries, also known in some places as chequered daffodils, but I see Kate and mountainear have beaten me to it :) They are perennial and so will come up year after year without too much fuss! Love the Minion photo - the children (and granddad) look absolutely delighted. Have a great weekend. Elizabeth xx
ReplyDeleteHi Annie...glad all those ladies knew your mystery plant...I've never seen one over here. The girls and pa sure look like they had a lovely time at the play school fair, daughter Amy did a marvelous job. Happy weekend Robyn
