WOYWW....

Hi folks.  It's been one of those weeks when I really can't wait to get my new sewing room set up and organised.  "Why Annie?" I hear you ask....you did didn't you?

Well.....

....this beautiful dress came through my door requiring a little job that was crying out for a few sequins and gems.

"Where were they?"

Well!!! .....they could be just about anywhere as this was my first wedding dress through my door since the house move.  So out came boxes, tins and jars!!

So my room today is looking like this!!!!....click on the pics if you dare for a closer look :-)

Chaos reigns! .....but, as I know you will want to know, I did eventually find what I was looking for and yes you guessed it....they were in the last place I looked!!

Oh how I long to get this lot organised and all sorted in places I can put my hand on everything.

I hope you've enjoyed your visit today.  If you would like to leave me a little hello comment to let me know you've called in then I will call by at yours as soon as I'm able.

Hugs,
Annie x

  1. Of course they were in the last place you'd looked, but if you'd reversed the order, they'd still have been in the last place, that's the way it goes... glad you found them though - and what a gorgeous dress! Have a great week. Helen 5

  3. Hi Annie, if you were here in the Philippines I would have had you do my gown. Yesterday I had someone make my wedding gown into a formal gown. They need to add a panel in front to make it fit. I've grown (a bit ha ha) bigger! Happy WOYWW! patsy

  4. You won't beat this Annie .....
I lost two balls of wool. Gues where I found them ?
Knitted up in the jumper. The thing is they were extra to make a matching scarf. I'm now known as Slack Alice in the knitting group as I knit so loosely.
Heres a thing though, the jumper fits. Here's another thing, I've lost lots of weight since I bought the wool months ago. I think it's got a bit of the Irish in it don't you.

  7. Morning Annie. Yes, I'm with you - everything you want is in the last possible alternative place, isn't it? Glad you found what you needed. I imagine you had a lot of fun putting the glitz on that dress!
Gorgeous snowdrop picture there this morning.

  8. Thanks for visiting Annie. You always beat me to it. I suppose you always will because I go to the gym on Wed morning. Now I'm back and I've been looking at that gorgeous wedding gown.Stunning!
Oh gosh, 5 children. I don't envy you. I'm not very good with kids. A children's party would be my idea of hell.lol.
    Hello lovely blog readers,
Saturday I went to our nearby town to do a beginner’s course in Patchwork. I’ve always wanted to do this.
In the morning we made a cushion cover with strips of material. We sewed (by hand) onto a backing that had a pattern on it. Every piece on the backing was numbered to make it easy, and it felt a bit like ‘painting by numbers’. It really was easy.
This little chicken sat on the work table. We were given the pattern so we can have a go at home with whatever scraps we have. She looks cute doesn’t she?
Here are a few action shots.
This is a shot of the shop. I was like a kid in a sweet shop! All those gorgeous fabrics! Lovely!
    Have a great week,

  9. Love your header of pretty flowers. Glad to know others go thru this "search and rescue" time consuming adventure. Glad you found what you were looking for. I've been searching 2 days for a small wooden box I use as a loom and no where to be found .... grrrrrr. Enjoy WOYWW

  10. At least you have a good excuse for not being able to find something. I haven't moved in 20 years and tend to put everything away in its place. Then can't find the place.

  11. Hi Annie ... That should have been on Friday smiles .... Why is it always the last box that's what I wang to know? Still I bet you found a few other fun things along the way.
Have fun with the dress... You know you will

  13. Sounds a bit like everyday in our house but usually it's a teddy or a toy dog that has vanished and we are turning the house out for the special toy. :)

  15. Even in chaos your room looks like a great place to create. And..it is always in the last place..but if you looked there first it would be somewhere else...its a space/time warp thing :) Have a creative week:) Shel-PaperOcotilloStudio #51

  21. Ah but Annie, despite your feeling that it's not yet sorted, it has the feeling of order to us, your devoted onlookers! That dress looks fab, I think I'd faint if it was brought to me for alteration! (Not that it would be, but you know what I mean!)

  22. Glad you managed to find them, Annie, and I'm sure the dress will look fantastic. I hope you manage to get straight soon, to relieve any stress and frustration. It does look a fab work room. Have a great week, Chris # 21

  23. Me again! We've done the hedge twice before...when we bought the house, the hedge consisted of large clumps of hazel with bigs gaps in between. Not good when our boys were 4 and 1 at the time. So we sent off for a leaflet from the British Trust for Conservation and had a go. Hazel is pretty hard to kill really, and when you see how hedges recover after being trashed by tractors, well, there was nothing to lose. It's very satisfying to do, I really enjoy it though it is hard work. The worst part is getting rid of all the branches afterwards.....that's the bit I hate :-)

  24. I have that very same problem and my room is "sorted"!!! Haa Haa!
Lovely gown though. Shall I come up and "help" you tidy your room? Now that would be a laugh and a half!!

  25. Hi Annie, I feel your frustration and hope you will be able to put some time aside to get into your new sewing room. The dress is beautiful but I would hate to have the responsibility of replacing those missing sequins. You might like to know that it's Boob's Law that states that whatever you are looking for is always in the last place you look - really, I kid you not :) Hugs, Elizabeth xx #76

  26. Morning Annie, that sort of chaos looks very familiar. For years I had to do all my sewing, wedding dresses included, in the dining room and clear up before the children came back from school.
That dress is beautiful, did you make it or were you just repairing it? Hope your room is ready soon.
