Hi fellow WOYWWers. Hope you're all having a great week. It's been another busy one here for me. We still don't have our building planning permission but things sound to be moving in the right direction thankfully.
My show and tell today is one of my crafting table that has been lifted into the sitting room for me to open it out for some cutting out this week.
I have struggled to find enough room to pull my table out in my 'make do' little sewing room and my fabric pile was growing so for a day or two I am opening my table out in the middle of the living room so I can cut out a few tops for myself. You can see there are 3 tops now cut out at the end of the table and the next one is on it's way :-)
Of course this doesn't include the 4 pieces of fabric to make some summer tops out of so the table may be used for a while yet :-)
This is a before pic of the room that will eventually become my sewing room....why would anyone clad the walls in a modern bungalow to give a Tudor effect to one of the rooms?....answers on a postcard please :-)
Thankfully it's only wood cladding and will all be removed so the walls can be plastered once the doors are blocked up.
And wahoooooooo there is progress.....here's a pic of my darling hubby and son obviously discussing something important and as you can see they have been really busy removing the cladding....now it's about half stripped and the room already seems so much bigger.
I really can't wait to get in there now....exciting times :-)
Thanks for calling by this week. If you leave me a comment to let me know you've called I will do my best to call by at yours to see what you're up to. Please note that I do call by at all who have visited me but I am unable to leave comments on many of the google+ blogs....sorry.
Hope the planning comes through soon so you can really start! amazing how much bigger the room looks without the 'tudor effect'! Helen 4

Oh how exciting!!! Wonderful for you to have a spacious sewing room and not have to take over the living room! My son recently got engaged and when he moves out (in the Philippines. our kids often stay with us until they get married, whatever age) we will have a free room! Happy WOYWW, Annie!
ReplyDeleteHi Annie it looks better already and so exciting. You have been busy with your tops- hope we get to see them :-) oh I'm so nosy! Anne x #37

Hi Annie, oooh so exciting for you as slowly you can see your new house taking shape. You're lucky to have a big table to cut out your garments, I end up on the floor with big layouts. Enjoy your week Cheers RobynO#42
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful to have all that cladding taken down. They look like they are going to do a great job.

What a great team they make too - you will soon be all sorted and busy in that lovely sewing room. x Jo
ReplyDeleteOooh how exciting, to see your new sewing room come together just how you want it.... you will be happy dancing all over the place!! Hope the planning permission comes through quickly for you! I am sure hubby doesn't mind the sewing table being all over the lounge... much!! LOL Happy WOYWW from Annette #13
ReplyDeleteEveryone is looking very industrious Annie. Your room is going to look gorgeous I'm sure.

Ooh, how exciting! It already looks so much better with half the cladding off....it's going to be fantastic when your Building Boys have finished :-)
ReplyDeleteHugs, LLJ 25 xx
Yay! progress on the sewing room. I have no idea why someone would want all that extra wood on the walls..lol Happy WOYWW :) Shel#71
ReplyDeleteI always have to cut clothes patterns out on my dining table. Love it. Happy WOYWW! Sandy Leigh #59
ReplyDeleteI remember when the renovation company had just installed the studs that framed my basement studio. I was loving it. Then they put in the sheet rock and the room looked SO much smaller. Isn't it odd that just removing that nasty Tudor addition seemed to make the room improve in size. I'm sure you'll love it when it's finished.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you are good at cutting, as well as sewing. What a joy to make your own clothes.
Happy WOYWW from #1 and thanks for visiting me while I slept.
Hi Annie, it never fails to amaze me how quickly you can run up a few tops for yourself ... it would take me forever just to make one! Lovely to see that there's been some movement on your intended sewing room. I'm sure it will be lovely to have everything at your fingertips and all in one room ... I'm following progress with interest :) Not WOYWWing this week, for obvious reasons, but just had to visit you. Hugs, Elizabeth xx
ReplyDeleteSo exciting to have a new sewing room in the works. That stuff is better off the walls. It will be lovely when finished.

Exciting times. I so should have joined in this week as I actually had something on the table. I spent the afternoon sewing, unpicking and resewing the bodice for a dress I have started. I need to concentrate more when sewing. My cutting table is the living room floor but I do sew in my sewing room, well hubby calls it the craft room he has a small desk in the corner as he occasionally makes models. ;) The children call it Mummy's room though. Happy Wednesday.
ReplyDeleteGlad you have found some space! That room will look fabulous soon - what on earth???? Thanks for visiting, Chrisxx54
ReplyDeletethat is so exciting to see your room under construction. your right it visually already looks bigger. ( Fun views :) ) ~Stacy #75
ReplyDeletejust think how special it will be when you get your new home just the way you want it. When you have your craft room all finished and you can sit in the garden and enjoy the beautiful flowers.
ReplyDeleteSounds like bliss to me.

I'll agree with you that the cladding is bizarre!
ReplyDeleteHappy fabric cutting, even if it is in the wrong room x
it has been a while since I have visited and I am glad you are in your house and getting it fixed up. Hope you plans get approved. I need to sew some clothes but just can't seem to get it together to do so. I have a weird shape bottom with top being smaller then the big bottom I have and it is easier to sew then to shop and take in. I guess when I get to the point of close to naked I will sew! Love the looks of the new studio room. I have never cared for the Tudor look in homes because rooms are usually way to small and look like a dungeon on good days. I hope you have a great week and thanks for visiting my blog earlier. Vickie #33
