WOYWW...

Sewing by Annie is still in total chaos....I'm working out of boxes and of course can never find the box I'm looking for!  Still no moving date but our survey is being done on our new bungalow today so I'm keeping everything crossed.  We have now taken 21 car loads of stuff to the local tip and, as our kids say, that surely means there really wont be such a lot to move when the big day eventually comes lol.
Please help yourself to a mask...
I am full up with a miserable head cold at the mo with a dry sore throat and earache which isn't helping but as always I'm keeping busy with my sewing jobs and still finding time for fun too  :-)

This is the latest addition to our pixie/fairy world.  I saw an idea on Pinterest and decided I could design my own without a pattern and adapt it to suit us.  I have crocheted the tree house and stuffed the top half and then fixed a savoury cheese biscuit carton in the lower half.  I may make a little swing to fit on the broken tree branch for added fun  :-)

Of course I also need something to keep me awake in the evenings so have decided to knit another of my favourite baby blankets...we do have rather a lot of babies expected in the next couple of months so I'm sure it will be put to good use.  :-)

It's just a quick update from me for this week as I'm feeling pretty fed up with this head cold and don't want to pass it on to any of my blogging friends.....hope you made use of a free face mask for your visit today.  Thanks for dropping by...I will do my best to call in to visit but promise not to sneeze over you.  :-)
Hugs,
Annie x

  4. Hi Annie. Sorry you feel so miserable with that cold. Confess I did use a mask - trying to keep infections and hubby well apart at the mo!
That blanket will look so lovely - the squares are obviously done on the diagonal - but what is the pattern - they look great.
    Trust you get better soon.

I've been awol for a couple of weeks so it's really great to catch up and see how you're doing. That little pixie tree is just gorgeous! I love the idea of a little swing. How clever you are! 7. I used the antiseptic hand gel too as I really don't want to catch it at the moment! Poor you, hope it passes quickly.
That little tree house is fab! You're very adept at altering patterns, aren't you? That's a real skill, honed by your years of crafting. I can do it with some things but I'm not that confident going off piste with crochet yet!
Still got fingers crossed for the moving....

  9. Thanks for the lovely welcome back. Love your pixie tree and I have to admit to being a Pinterest addict but nothing I try ever resembles the original. I will slowly post some pics from the holiday in the US. All the best with your moving day.

  12. Fab little fairy tree house! My you are clever and so talented! I brought my own mask as I have a large box of these too. Being allergic to fragrances they come in handy when I have to be amongst peeps. Take care Annie. Drink lots of chicken broth. Happy WOYWW! Nan G #9

  13. Sorry to hear you are suffering, Annie. I bet the dust of sorting out and the tip does not help that either. I have been sneezing and sniffing too, but mine is hay fever, caused by the milder weather bringing the trees out into bloom - one of my biggest triggers. I hope you soon get your moving over and done with and can get back to living in comfort. xx Maggie #24

  20. sounds as crazy as my house some days ...although no babies around so maybe it is easier with just teddies and stuff .. love the colour you are knitting... I have been trying to sell some of our original furniture as we now have new things...so the place is overcrowded... and people not showing up as promised is making me crazy... I'll soon call a hospice and just have them pick it up. In perfect condition and folks still think they need a bargain on top of basement bargain prices for perfect things...what is the world coming to?..well, come to for that matter...they all want brand new and get it on credit if they can't have it free from me....go on then..put it on your credit card people...see if I care!

  24. Poor Annie. Why not, for once, just give in and take yourself to bed rather than battling tostay awake in the evenings? I'm sure all the work and packing and keeping cheerful have taken their toll - go sleep it off gal!

  25. I'm with Julia, sometimes it is wisest to take the easier path and just rest up till you feel better! Hope your survey goes well and you are on your move soon!
Just adore that little tree house, the swing idea would be cute too!

  27. Oh Annie, I feel for you. I hope by now you are feeling better, because it's already Thursday, which means I'm running behind.

I'm sure all my British friends know what a survey is, so I hope it goes well. I assume you can't move if the survey isn't good. I have my fingers crossed, too. It's time for you to be able to get on with your life. It's sort of like watching grass grow or paint dry. It takes forever.

Thanks for the visit yesterday, And I admit, you certainly didn't sneeze on me!

  31. Hi Annie, I so hope you are feeling much better by the time you read this. And as for the moving and the trips to the tip ... it is all worth it in the end. I'm so happy in my new home and so will you in time :) I don't know where you are finding the energy to still knit and crochet but that little tree house is fabulous. A Belated Happy WOYWW to you.
