WOYWW....or maybe WNOYWW?

This has been a very different sort of week for me.  We are planning on downsizing and moving to a bungalow as soon as we can so the last few weeks there has been a lot of sorting, filling of boxes and dumping of rubbish at the local tip....4 [full to capacity] car loads so far!!!  and a good bit of....

.....finding the right colour tins of paint to touch up where needed.  It's all so exciting......the next big adventure in our lives.
You can imagine what we have to sort through when I say this has been our family home for well over 60 years! [I wasn't alive for all of them I hasten to add :-)  ]

Yesterday we had the first estate agent here to give us a free valuation so on my desk today is....

....absolutely nothing.....not even my 'to do' rail is cluttering up my sewing room this morning!
We have another valuation being done on Saturday morning so I guess I have to keep it tidy too....but I have to work too so we will see.

What I do have to share with you today is my LillyBo quilt number 4 that is now finished and the....

.....little matching bag to put it in.  I still have to make a little something to go in the pocket that I've put inside the bag but I am sharing this on Di's Pixie's Crafty Snippets Playground for this week as my quilts are all made from the snippets of fabric I have in my many boxes.

I hope you have enjoyed the little peep into my world for this week.  If you'd like to leave a little hello comment I will do my best to pay you a return visit asap.

Hugs,
Annie x

There are just a few folk that have found something to share and make others smile this week.  It's not too late to join in so snap a happy pic and link it here to join in the fun......or if you have nothing to smile about then please feel free to check out the lovely posts of those that have already linked and I promise you will be smiling afterwards.  :-)

  5. Hi Annie, your 4th quilt is gorgeous, love the red edging particularly. And to think I struggled with one! We have just finished clearing out our garage and that was a marathon task so good luck with your sorting etc. Happy WOYWW, Anne x #37

  8. You are a star to get No4 made whilst all that is going on.TYTYTY! I look forward to seeing it! I love the off set positioning of the squares and the red edging is super effective..
It must be so difficult to clear out radically in prep for a move. We started with the intent of getting near to Brighton but property was so expensive down South we would only have got a shed of a place for the sale of our good sized 3 bed plus loft room house.
    Be in touch soon,

  12. Quilt and bag are lovely Annie. Gosh moving from somewhere after so long is no mean feat. Good Luck with it all. I used to hate having to have everything put away for the viewings when we were selling. Anne x #99

  13. Love the quilt Annie and such a good use of all your scraps. Don't know how I would manage downsizing as its hard enought emptying one room for the decorators - trying to work my way up to that task soon.

  15. Hi Annie, I don't envy you the sorting out after 60 years ... we've only been in this house for just over 5 years and the thought of moving again is bringing on my little palpitations :) However, we are looking for somewhere, not so much smaller, as with a more manageable garden - that is one on the flat. The EM is finding all the steps in our very sloping garden a trial now that he has a gammy hip.

Oh, and having to keep your workdesk tidy - you must be itching to get stuff out. The quilt and matching bag are lovely - gorgeous colours.

I've had a week with a sick cat, off-colour husband, a visit to my mum's grave, etc., so not much to smile about - maybe next week. So on that note I'll wish you a great WOYWW. Elizabeth x #58

  17. I know when we moved - and we had only lived there ten years - I lost count of car trips to the dump and chaity shop. In fact we got so scared of them getting fed up and turning us away that we took to stealthily leaving bags at the charity shops back door about 15 minutes before they were due to open *g* The dump men used to just roll their eyes when they saw us coming eventually - wouldn't think it to look at the place now. Just as cluttered as the last place was.

How exciting for you. Hope your new place still has a lovely big room for you to work in :)

  18. We haven't moved house, but redecorating, so we had a massive clear-out! Can't believe how much stuff we had that never saw the light of day unless we were having a sort out. So much more storage room now, lol. Have a great week,Hugs, Shaz #91 xx

  20. Hi Annie - another fabulous quilt and bag there girl! I peeked close-up and just love the fabrics you used.

We're about to embark on another blitz here - it's daunting but feels so good when you've done it. I hate throwing or giving away memories but it just has to be done :(

Good luck with the house move, my guess is you'll be staying fairly local?

Hugs and Happy WOYWW......and I just sent you a HUGE pair of curtains to shorten, lol :)) Di xxx

  22. How exciting. I hope you soon get some offers on your house. They can come from the least expected places. When we were selling our house to come out here, it was bought by a single mum with an eleven year old son. We had a big detached house with four double bedrooms so the last thing I expected was an offer from them! There's nothing like a house move to make you get rid of some stored 'treasure' but it's slow work. When you start looking through a box a whole afternoon can disappear! ave fun. Kate x #84

Good luck with your move..I moved to a smaller place when I remarried and I love it. But I needed to clear out more before I came here. Still getting rid of things. Nothing ever fits and decorating is a total start over.

  34. Hi Annie,

Oh, you know my misery then (or soon will). Keeping a place neat and tidy ready to show is tough..... not that I'm a total mess, but when I craft I am kind of messy!

The blanket and bag look wonderful. I'm sure the recipients will absolutely love them.

Thank you for visiting me already!

  40. Wow! What a tidy room, totally recognisable. We were discussing downsizing today, but came to the conclusion that we cannot possibly move. We have just too much stuff that we do not wish to be without. We are fortunate in living very close to the town centre and all amenities, And to our daughter. So I think we shall forget that idea for now, and just make this house right for our advancing years. Good luck keeping things tidy and finding a new home. xx Maggie #42

  43. Moving must be quite an emotional thing for you Annie after all this time. I can remember the rubbish….I mean family treasures ……that my dad got rid of with he moved from the house to the flat and they had only been there 28 years, so I don’t envy you.
    And, yet another beautiful quilt.
    Happy Crafting!
