Happy New Year to all my wonderful blogging friends who take the time to call in every week and leave such special comments. I really hope we all have another brilliant year of shared crafty fun ahead of us.
I'm starting off my New Year with a good sort out of all my fabric boxes [not something I can do while Sewing by Annie's is open for business as you can imagine].
So today I'm showing you my mess!!!!
Not so messy eh?...you should have seen it 5 min later! It's all sorted now and back up on the shelf.
Yes folks, I really do have 3 huge boxes full of fur fabric [metres of the stuff] so if anyone has any brilliant ideas as to what I can make with it all I'd be thrilled to hear them.
I've had time for a bit of crafty fun playing with one of my Christmas presents. I haven't done lino cutting since school days but it all came flooding back as I got started....I love the smell of the linseed as you make the cuts. I still have to finish off the cutting before I ink it up but I'm sure you will see the results at some point.
I would also like to share with you this wonderful collection of goodies that I won over at Carol's blog.... Smile at the flowers.
Not a bad start to the year eh? I really love the gorgeous x-stitched Christmas hanger and crocheted fingerless gloves that Carol has made.....Thank you for picking my name out. x
Well folks that's all from me for today apart from to repeat my Happy New Year wishes to one and all. May it bring health and happiness to you all.
Don't forget to pop over to our new Facebook shop and 'like' us so you can keep an eye on our New Year makes. It has been shut since before Christmas but we do hope to get going again with new ideas for 2013.
Hugs,
Annie x
Congrats on your prize win! Awesome lot of stuff. Faux fur is everywhere here this year. Little girls (and not so little girls) are wearing vest and hats made with the stuff. Not to mention the coats, muffs (hand and ear warmers) etc. Looks like the lino cutting is coming along well. I look forward to seeing it inked up! Hope you have a Happy and Prosperous New Year! I look forward to seeing your posts in 2013! Vickie #17
ReplyDeleteVickie has suggested most of what I was going to say! How about hot water bottle covers?

ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely prize you have received. And rightly so too, could not have gone to anyone nicer.
ReplyDeleteWhat fabulous boxes, now that gives me an idea of how to store my bits and pieces that I have started to accumulate - but where do I put the boxes? Need to ponder that one.
Lino cutting - ugh from me! I taught it to third years for so long it really put me off - not my thing, sorry - but you look to be making a great job of it. Look forward to seeing your dragonfly in flight.
Thanks for all the friendship over the past year, you are such a lovely person.
Hugs, Neet xx 12

Congrats on your win. Always fun to play around with new ideas. Happy New Year..and enjoy WOYWW
ReplyDeleteYou made me laugh Annie having that much fun fur! No ideas from me but I'm sure you'll use it up slowly. Lovely gift from your husband, I remember doing lino cutting at school too, lots of fun. Lovely home made items you won too, I've been thinking about making fingerless gloves for me for work as I sit by a window, my hands get a bit cold. Hope you all have a wonderful 2013.

ReplyDeleteCongrats on the win! Looks like a nice lot goodies! Can't wait to see what this Lino cutting is all about! New Year's greetings! Nan 78
ReplyDeleteLino cutting... how cool! And what a fabulous win! Happy New Year and WOYWW!!
ReplyDeleteCarol N #76
You should make Anna Karenina hats; apparently they're all the rage. My £1 hat from last year is really fashionable. Plus, as hats go, they're pretty easy to make, especially for someone with your skills.
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW,
Love Rachel, #6
Well done for winning, and for the early Spring cleaning. I should be doing mine rather than blog-trotting! Happy new year! x
ReplyDeleteWow loving your prizes you won, I buy Mollie makes every month. Your carving is brilliant, wow I can't wait to see it inked up. Not sure what to do with the fur but make sure your daughter knows to let your grandchildren be animals in the rest of their school plays and primary school :-) Happy Woyww, I'm off now to like your facebook shop :-)
ReplyDeleteHugs Kerry xxx
Lovely win. Well done. Wishing you and yours a very happy new year.
ReplyDeleteFamfa
Hi Annie, what a stunning dragonfly - yet another skill! Hmm, furry fabric - I'd play safe and go for toys. Sorry I'm a bit late for WOYWW. Hugs, Di xx #19
ReplyDeleteHi Annie - what a lovely way to start off another year of crafting with some wonderful goodies - I love that card with the cat on too - a really lovely selection of stuff there to enjoy. I had last years Mollie Makes calendar - they are so nice with inspirational pictures for each month - enjoy as each month comes and goes!
ReplyDeleteI bought some bits and pieces of offcuts a week or so ago from a local economy fabric shop, as I want desperately to make some things using my sewing machine just to see if there is any mileage or need to get a decent machine - I have one of those small machines that do one or two stitches. I bought it for stitching on cards - but I want to do proper things now instead - so where you have massive boxes of fabric, mine fills 3 of those plastic drawers on wheels - more if I didn't cram so much into each drawer (well, I need the space for other things)...
Ah! Lino cutting. Kirstie Allsopp was doing this recently on her Vintage Home show on C4 (I love it), and printed ducks out on a blind. Your dragonfly does look better mind! I wouldn't mind a go at that - imagine - some people have actually made a career out of doing it lol...
Well, it remains for me to wish you a Very Happy New Year - all the very best of health for 2013 - I'll try to pop along more this year - so I need to be better at blogging in general lol.
all my love
