Hello WOYWWers. Hope you're all having a great week. Life here is as always, pretty busy.
We had a brilliant Funday Monday this week cos our friend T joined us again for crafting fun [not that we did much of that ;-) ] she has been tied up with lots of family commitments for weeks and we have really missed her so it was lovely to catch up for a good chat and giggle.
On my desk today is the little dumfing pic I have made a start on. I have already dumfed in some yarns and fabrics and will do some machine embroidery before dumfing on the lily pad I have hand dumfed ready. The dragonfly is finished now too and is ready to sit on his lily pad :-) I am having to do these little pictures in snatched minutes so they will be slow to develop. At the back of the pic are the birthday projects under covers ready for next week's celebrations. :-)
We decided to go blackberrying on Sunday but as you can see we found barely enough to cover the bottom on the box....there are lots more to ripen yet but they are much smaller than I thought they would be with all the rain we have had.
I am pleased to say though that, with a couple of Bramley apples off our little tree in the garden, the blackberries did make rather a lovely crumble. :-) Yum yum
That's about all I have to share with you today folks and I'm sorry to say I doubt I will be able to pay you a return visit til later this week. Sometimes life just gets in the way....will tell you more about that later. :-) Hope you all have a brilliantly creative week.
Hugs,
Annie x
That crumble looks tempting - just a nice dollop of fresh cream or a slosh of custard!! Yum. x Jo
ReplyDeleteI had heard the blackberries were going to be good this year, but it just goes to show all this rain hasn't been good for anything really has it. You made a delicious looking crumble with the few you found though. Hope you managed to enjoy the recent sunshine.
ReplyDeleteHappy Dumfing.

Love crumble.... hope you have better luck with blackberrying next time! Helen, 20
ReplyDeleteIt is not long since breakfast and I am hungry already seeing your beautiful crumble.... that is a fabulous little lily pad you did by hand - very clever. Happy WOYWW, Anne x #82
ReplyDeleteThe blackberries here are just the same!I am just eating them as I see them as there are too few good ones to do anything else.
ReplyDeleteAlso I would have to eat the whole crumble by myself...
I am being 'good' that crumble could have broken my resolve if it had been on my desk rather that yours!
ReplyDeleteI like it with ice cream please!

The crumble looks tasty, you only need a few berries to brighten up the apple. I had a few the other day and made this recipe with the children, it went down very well.

Hi Annie. I love blackberries, stewed hot and poured over vanilla ice-cream. I used to go blackberry picking on the first day after the children went back to school. (It was actually more productive to go without them!). Unfortunately we don't get any berries except strawberries out here, but, of course, we get loads of other beautiful fruit. The trouble is, you always want the one you can't get!
ReplyDeleteIt is intersting to see the step by step emergence of the dragonfly too. Kate x #128
I have just had a catch up ...omg the munchkins look so cute with their back packs on for their visit.
ReplyDeleteAs for that crumble ... that was my hubbies favourite ... no one else likes it so maybe I should make some individual ones as I am now craving some lol I LOVE traditional crumbles not cheffy ones. xx#81
Oh my goodness that fruit looks lovely and yummie and that pie crumble just devine for the belly. I do hope all is ok with you and don't worry about a return visit, I understand if you have committments. Just happy to see your cooking.

Now I'm sure I could have a share of that lovely crumble if I had it with fat free Greek yoghurt. I do this regularly with treats so I don't feel too guilty and it tastes good too.
ReplyDeletelovely to share your family photos too and it sounds like there's some fun to come.
thanks for popping in on me and one day I hope to get together with you and Jo.
Love Jo x
Thanks for my pudding tonight. Will be making some custard to pour over that later tonight.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing your end results....love dragonflies!
Happy Wednesday!

Hi there Annie, ah you are driving us all slightly crazy with the sight ofyour yumminess! i adore blackberries and we used to go bLackberrying when we were children and lived in cold country on the tablelands too warm here.,and loved your post down below too. Thanks so much for sharing ~ happy WOYWW! Shaz in Oz. x #25
ReplyDeleteYummy! I want some of the crumble. Do save me a bite. I used to be the person who could craft small bits at a time whenever I could snatch a moment. Somehow I've lost that ability and I need to get it back! You've reminded me that it can be done!
ReplyDeleteYikes ... I nearly missed you this week and then I wouldn't of seen the delicious treats you have been baking.

Hi Annie, home from NM and trying to catch up. Love the dragonfly and the crumble looks yummy. It doesn't take a ton of blackberrie to add in with apples for a fabby flavour does it.
