It's Wednesday again! Where did those other 6 days go? Are there still 7 days in a week and 24 hours in each day? Time passes so quickly and we just have to fill every day with something special.
This is what I have woke up to this morning!!!! Where have the blue skies gone to? Brrrrrrrrrrr
This is what I have woke up to this morning!!!! Where have the blue skies gone to? Brrrrrrrrrrr
So? What do I have to show you this week? On my desk today is the results of our Funday Monday.
Little Lexi loves to hunt out the labels on all the toys she plays with and Michelle had seen an idea for a little comforter with ribbons all round it. It was a 20cm square of felt and I don't like tinies to play with felt cos it is not nice to suck and all little ones put things in their mouths don't they? So Nanny Annie put her thinking cap on and this is what I came up with....
Cathy caterpillar :-) All the ribbons / legs are different so that they all have slightly different textures. I wonder what Lexi will think of it. :-)

Of course I couldn't just make one so Bertie beetle came next. :-)
Yes I'm quite mad but to work here it certainly helps. :-)
I've finished them both off with eyelashes and a smiley mouth :-)
Do you remember this pic from back in Nov 2011 that I made two fab ABC bags from kits Jozart sent me for my grandies? Well here is a fab pic Michelle sent me yesterday of the one being well
She is now sitting [with just a little support at her back] so is able to explore lots of different toys now....all that labour of love was well worth it wasn't it? :-)
The other special thing I've been working on this week is Michelle's special dress....poor pic I know but that's on purpose so the detail stays hidden :-)
It has been a quiet week with sewing for my customers [a very rare thing for me] so I could turn to one of my jobs that I have waiting in the wings [ and there are lots of those :-) ]. I have managed to shorten the hems on two of the layers...still more to go :-)
This morning I have customer's trousers on my 'to do' rail so the Wedding dress will stay under covers today. Hope you all have a lovely week and fill your days with lots of special activities. Thanks for popping by. Please leave me a little hello comment before you pop over to visit Julia and link up with the WOYWW fun.
Lovely pic of Lexi exploring!! Check my weather photo!! x Jo
ReplyDeleteOh you don't need to see much of a wedding dress to know how beautiful it is...lovely, makes me smile. Ah I remember the labels fascination, what a great response Nanny Annie, bet it will be a great hit.
ReplyDeleteLove the caterpillar!! Great idea and will be well loved (sucked) I am sure...

Oooer, can't wait for photos of the big day Annie! And, I love those ribbon comforters - I bought one for Livi at a craft fayre when she was tiny and think I paid around £12, and it was just a square surrounded by different textured ribbons. She loved it so these will be real hits!
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW - shame you can't come with Jo and do the stationery :)
Hugs, Di xx
Lovely photos Annie. I am handquilting a cotbed quilt for my daughter's nephew by marriage, and the daylight makes such a difference as it's quite a busy set of 20 blocks and the sashing. It's to help him stay in his own bed as he's fond of being in with mum and dad. He's 3 next weekso I better get a move on and stop blog reading!
ReplyDeleteI love Cathy Caterpillar, what a brilliant idea. Seeing the snow is almost unbelievable after last week's temperatures!

ReplyDeleteLovely lickle caterpillar and beetle there! That dress is looking a stunner despite the photo quality.
ReplyDeleteAs for clear desks, maybe we have all had a Spring clean or should that be a snow clean? It has been snowing down here all morning!! Not sticking much though - phew!
Your taggie toys are a great idea, just the right size for holding. I can't believe the speed your little ones are coming on at.
ReplyDeleteLove your caterpillar and beetle. Very clever. You are right, kids love labels and eating stuff. Well done. Wedding dress looks sparkly x
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely baby:) I love them at that age.
ReplyDeleteI have seen those blankies with the ribbon loops here. They were made with a soft fleece fabric. However, your creations are much better ideas:)
Such fantastic makes, so pretty. Take care, & enjoy peeking at the WOYWW desks this week. Zo xx 78

The caterpillar and bug are very sweet and such a wonderful idea. Little ones surely do love the bits that stick out don't they? Look at all those little bits you sewed up for the ABC bag, that's great! And apparently is a big hit.
ReplyDeleteHi Annie, love, love, love the caterpillar - what a terrific idea :) Your photo could have been mistaken for a Christmas photo but for the lone daffodil on the windowsill - horrible change of weather! Such a pleasure to see wee Lexi sitting up and playing away quite happily too. A really enjoyable post, Annie. Hope you have a wonderful Easter. Elizabeth x #147
ReplyDeleteLots of COLOR on your table, but none outside, except WHITE or GRAY. No snow here all winter. Happy Easter and happy WOYWW from # 6.
ReplyDeleteLove the little bug babies! They are so adorable! The dress is coming along fabulously (a little peek at a time LOL!). I remember that ark! Glad that you are doing well with all the snow outside! Have a great Easter! -Amanda x142

ReplyDeleteI am sorry I am a bit late this week!! Have a fab WOYWW and a lovely Easter, Luv Karen xx #173
Ohh Annie everything you create is divine. Always lovely to see how busy you have been sewing up a storm. Have a lovely easter.
ReplyDeleteHi Annie, Gosh you must be "up-north" to have snow if you are in the UK!! We escaped down south.
ReplyDeleteYour toys are brilliant, love the alphabet toy, and the little creatures too. I made a spider for my son when he was small with lots of dangly ribbons and braids. I put a film canister in it with something to rattle too.
Thanks for sharing BJ #58
Oh, I wish I could see the entire dress..it must be beautiful! I love the little caterpillar...such a fun idea!! WOYWW #31 :)
ReplyDeleteYour caterpillar and beetle are both fav ideas and look just great for little mouths to suck and chew on. Not been by in a while as there has been a lot going on in my life just at the present. It has involved a lot of living away from home and haring up and down the motorway in bewteeen so I am afraid that WOYWW has had to take a back seat for a while. Hugs Mrs A. p.s. glad you liked my painting.
ReplyDeleteA blog post full of loveliness.
ReplyDeleteLove the ribbon characters - you are so clever. Fab picture of Lexi - clever little one. then the peek at the wedding dress - loved it all.
Happy Easter - Hugs, neet xx
Sorry I'm a bit late this week! Fabulous detail on the dress, happy easter x
