Jo joined me as normal this morning to share another Funday Monday here at Sewing by Annie's. We always start our morning measuring and cutting any curtains as you know but today....wahoooooo we had none to do so we had a catch up and then decided to spend our time sewing for Africa :-) The lovely Di sent us a pretty pink floral quilt cover and toning pink sheet a while back to make into little dresses but as we were both having a catch up with other sewing jobs at that time it had been put into our store for future use. We decided today was the day to make use of it so we chatted over the colour combos and the pieces were cut out ready. Jo has since made the 3 pretty little dresses and I'm sure will do a show and tell over on her blog later.
This morning I read Louise's blog over at Sew Scrumptious and saw she has now received 1314 dresses to date but is now needing shorts making for little boys. Of course we had just the material for the job and today I have run up the 5 little pairs of shorts we managed to cut out earlier this morning.
Louise is in need of 50 more pairs of shorts by the end of June so if you would like to join in and make her a few then please follow this link to see how....they are simply made but I'm sure they will do the job nicely.
Awe, I wondered about the little boys! These are so cute!!! xxx

Just brilliant Annie - so good to include the boys as well. Hugs, Di xx
ReplyDeleteBrilliant - they will be very much appreciated I am sure.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots. Had a look at the tutorial. Will have a go.
ReplyDeleteWell done both of you - it's quite something that both of you are very busy people yet you find time to think of children who have so little...and find time in such a big way! The mind boggles about all those dresses!
ReplyDeleteI'm perfectly sure that you and Twiglet adding to the publicity will guarantee the right number...aren't they sweet! I've been trying to figure why the fabric is familiar to me...I think the curtains in the church rooms are the same...and frankly...the shorts are a way better use,..!
ReplyDeleteYou a;ways amaze me witht he amount of things you can do in a day. Love the little shorts. Great the boys will get something as well as the girls. x Tricia
ReplyDeleteYou are so lucky to spend your time sewing together.
ReplyDeleteI saw the lovely dresses on Jo's blog, how happy the little girls will be to wear those.
What perfect material for boy's shorts, wonder if the lucky lads will form a 5-a-side football team wearing their matching shorts.

Also wanted to say - thank you for your congratulations on our Silver Wedding.

Hi Annie, thanks for popping by a few weeks ago. I don't visit blogland so often these days, there doesn't seem to be time :-0 then after the little bit of snow we had a few weeks ago BT had a cable down (I'm with Talk Talk, but BT line) so I was without a landline for nearly 3 weeks and no internet for 2 weeks grrrrr. I did get a refund out of Talk Talk though, only because someone mentioned it so I emailed them; I'm sure they wouldn't have offered!
ReplyDeleteThe shorts are great as is the tabard and you made a great job of the cushion pads for the buggies :-)
