WOYWW....

Happy Wednesday to you all.

It's been another hectic week for me [but nothing new there!].  This week has included...
  • A trip to BBC Television Studios to watch the show Pointless....brilliant afternoon's entertainment for free.
  • A trip to the theatre with Michelle and Brent to see Billie Elliot....Magical
  • An over night stay in a 4 star hotel in London.....felt really spoilt
  • The filling of the rag doll shelf in our blog shop [please check it out and let me know what your think]....exciting times
  • Precious family times with our grandbabies.
  • A brilliant Funday Monday with two special people....I cut out more little dollies
  • Bread making, cooking and even a little bit of housework  :-)
There really is NEVER a dull moment here.  I have to admit that after all the walking and climbing of stairs over the weekend that Nurofen has become my best friend to get rid of the aches and pains but I am happy to put up with those to have such quality times with my best friend in the world [I'm blessed with a hubby in a million and would like to thank him for all the wonderful planning he does to make a weekend like that possible].

Now for a few snaps to 'show and tell'  the world of sewing by Annie....

I've been sorting....
  • neat pile of tiny print fabrics for my dollies
  • box full of wools to use for dolly hair
  • a bag with my dolly patterns in it

I emptied out one of my sweet jars full of ribbons to sort out pretty narrow ribbons for the dollies and then.....

.......managed to squash them all back in.  :-)
You wouldn't believe all that would go in one jar would you?.....lots of brute force and determination required  :-)

Today you can see [or possibly not!] that I am making shaped chair arm covers for one of my customers.  I've had to make a pattern and she wants them piping so they will take a while.

And here is a bit of fru fru for you girls who like to see the posh frocks I am working on [this one started off a size 6 and I've taken it in 4"!!!].  It's coming up to prom time and I have several dresses to alter this week.

Now, please pop over to check out my rag dolly shelf and leave me a comment before you dash off to visit Julia and join in the WOYWW fun.  I hope you all have a great week.  Stay well and creative.
Hugs,
Annie x

  7. I always feel so guilty when I read what you have achieved in the week. OH asked if I'd mind speaking to him, rather shutting myself in the room glueing books - the cheek!

  8. Sounds like you’ve been enjoying ‘the arts’ in a slightly different form this week Annie.
I too love watching Pointless if I’ve nothing else to do and as for Billy Elliot, my friend Sue treated me to tickets for my 50th birthday (quite a few years back) and I loved it.

This week is going to be just as busy as last judging by your table.

    Happy Crafting!

  19. I take my hat off to you with the altering. I'd honestly rather make the dress from scratch! Your rag dolls are adorable and I don't think they will stay long on the shelf.

  20. Whoo! There is a lot of ribbon stuffed into that large jar! You've definitely been keeping busy of late. Sometimes I wish I had a planning hubby but then I remember I like home best, so no need to plan that stay! I can't imagine the work that goes into altering such a fru-fru dress!

  29. Such rewarding fun filled days! My husband is off to Boston this week, leaving T and I to some quality time - and oh yes I am very jealous, we spent part of our honeymoon there and I would love to go back dearly but not this time.....I can't imagine 4" smaller than a size 6 my mind is exploding!

  30. I did not join in with woyww but thought I would drop by some of my blog friends when I had a moment.
Cant believe how busy you are ...but what a great time. as for that size 4 omg. I am sure sizes have changed over the years ...I remember slimming to a 26" waiste to get into a size 16 skirt ...I was about 18 then ...now someone is quite slim to have a waist that size ....does that mean i wasn't really fat back then lol. xx

  33. Hi Annie, still making my way round the WOYWW posts but when I read mention of your ribbons on Di's Friday Feast post I hot-footed it over to see what's what! Huge collection of ribbons, and you have more jars too ... lovely :) Size 4! I don't think I was ever that slim even in my salad days (just a few years ago now). I was so slim back then that I found it difficult to find grown up clothes to fit ... in fact I'm sure there was nothing below a size 10 available ... sigh ... now I just wish I could fit into a size 10 :( Wishing you a great weekend.
