....Knitting, baby wool and even more wool is on it's way.
As you will know from last week's posting we are expecting 3 more Grandchildren by Christmas [check out the twin scan here if you missed it :-) ] and I also have two other friends expecting babies that I would like to knit a little something for. Because of this, in my spare time ["What spare time?" I hear you say!!], I'm knitting for England.
Here you can see that I have a lovely selection of finished items now...some still need buttons.
I have a lovely box full of wools to be going on with [and more in the post :-) ].
I have a lovely little cardigan on my needles in the process of being made....It's a really lovely soft spotty wool.
As you can see here I have lots of lovely knitting patterns but, as ever, not quite what I'm looking for. My eldest is expecting twins and of course these are often born a little early and are smaller than normal so I'm wanting to knit a couple of tiny baby outfits. I have several patterns for prem babies but I have double knitting wool and most of the tiny baby patterns use 4 ply [typical eh?]. Do any of you have or know where I can find some pretty tiny baby knitting patterns using double knitting wool? Or do I have to just admit defeat and buy some 4 ply?
The other thing I have to show you is the pretty desk tidy I made yesterday. This will be showing up in the blog shop along with the other new items soon.
Don't forget to leave us a comment in this week's gift draw over in the shop to be in with a chance to win the pen roll and tick the button to follow us over there cos there is a big draw coming up soon.

It's hard to keep up to date with knitting when the grandees come along...I love your collection so far.
ReplyDeleteI knit in the car as DH does the driving! It's great to see something for otherwise wasted time. Will look through my patterns for you but I mostly use 4 ply and make up my own designs.

Aw, cute baby clothes..and the babies on that pattern, asleep and snuggly! Love the desk tidy - please Miss can I have one made in that wipe clean tablecloth stuff, inside and out? Bet that wouldn't work, huh.

This may duplicate as I got an error!! Love the knitted woollies - how gorgeous; and so is the new wool.
ReplyDeleteLovely scan pic, lovely wool colours and such cute cardies, I wish I could knit (well I can at the pace of a snail and it isn't very tidy either, I had no one to help me when I was young being the only left hander in the family so I'm self taught and it's painful to watch me knit!)
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW!
Gorgeous knitting and the colours of all that you have done on your blog are just lovely. Love that pastel pink, blue, turquoise look that there is about your whole posting.
ReplyDeleteGreat desk tidy - ab fab! #36
As much as I love my papercrafting stash and tools and I do, I really do) I also miss the thrill of buying new wool to make clothes for my lads while they grew up...they are too big to knit for now!

ReplyDeleteWhat gorgeous soft, snuggly looking wool and cardies...makes me wish I was having another little one! Thanks for sharing and for commenting on my blog!
ReplyDeleteAll those balls of wool are making me very green!!! i have just a few left in my basket and need to go and spend some pennies in my local wool shop. Many thanks for the offer of a kindle cover, Trav bought me a red leather one with my kindle for Yule this year so she is all safe whenever I go out.
ReplyDeleteYou make me want to get out the needles!
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely things!
Chrissie
really pretty cardies
ReplyDeleteI love your knitting! Have you looked at Sirdar patterns - quite a few DK ones. I've got a few and my fave is knitted (or should that be knat?!) :) in Funky Fur wool. Pattern No. 1542 which is easy peasy as it's just stocking stitch. You're welcome to have mine if interested. Just let me know - it's VERY cosy when knitted up I should add. Di x
ReplyDeleteSo sweet I love seeing hand knitting on little babies
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the baby news! Sounds as though you'll have knitting coming out of your ears - lol. Some beautiful little creations you have made though. Love the desk tidy too.

Your babies are going to have a whole wardrobe to choose from at this rate.! Love all the baby colours of that wool. DIL 2b has just knitted chunky tops for her friends who are exoecting babies . They are really quite pretty.

I am glad I am not the only one in knitting mode. Having finally finished the shawl, I feel like doing something else again. You have inspired me to hunt through my wools and patterns and have another go (but NOT a shawl) Your things are really lovely, as too are your comments on my posting. Thank you so much for that.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the new babies to come. I missed the last 2 weeks. Awesome baby clothes!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the peek and sharing. Have a great WOYWW.
Hugs, Marjo #5
sweet little knits! congrats on the baby news! A few small size are great when nothing else fits them. My twins were born at 37 weeks and were both 6lbs! I was so grateful for the small cardi's as everything else had to be rolled up.
ReplyDeletehugs Debx
i think you may have to use 4 ply - or have 'chunky' knits, hee hee
ReplyDeleteDx
Aaah, babies and knitted cardigans - takes me back lol, all those little booties and bonnets. Like the desk tidy too, it's abit more attractive than my old shoebox!!
ReplyDeleteGolly! There is going to be some clickety clicking going on in your household and I dont mean on the computer! Congratulations! Those cardis look soooo cute!
ReplyDeleteHettie #135
Wonderful baby news. And such beautful baby jackets.
ReplyDeleteMarilyn
Congratulations on all the additions to your family! You'll be busy now that's for sure! Love the postman who drops off packages like those.
ReplyDeleteWOW, you sure are busy with your knitting! I used to do a lot of knitting and I have never used double knitting for babies, only ever 3 or 4ply. I have some very vintage patterns which use 2ply, something that is harder to find these days.
ReplyDeleteThose cardis are adorable! I especially love the hooded one! Could you make me one in my size :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting me!
xoxo Karen
Gorgeous little cardies and a very clever desk tidy. Thanks for visiting.
