WOYWW...

It's been another busy week with Bridesmaid's dresses and I have another one coming today for her fitting plus I have another bag full of factory trousers to replace the zips in being dropped off today too so I will definitely have enough to keep me busy this week.

I've had this delivery this week....it's bear stuffing and the two bags are tightly packed so have to be carefully opened as they expand lots....I hope you will send in a search party if I go missing.

The only other photo I have to share with you today is this little Easter bear I'm giving away over on my Sewing by Annie Facebook page....please pop over to be in with a chance to win him.

I spent yesterday with Gina at the hospital...she was running a temp and they monitored her closely before letting her go home.  She is to keep an eye on things over the next few days and to shout if she's worried.... the plan is to induce her on 11th April....if she gets that far!!

Please leave me a little message so I know you've called in and I will do my best to pay you a visit in between my sewing jobs.

Hugs,

This week's smiles...week 465

It's been a really lovely week here at sewing by Annie's.  I've not only been making special Memory bears and cushion covers but it's Wedding season and I have already had 3 bridesmaids dresses to alter and have many more to come yet.

My collage this week is of the gorgeous Spring flowers that are now filling my garden....they really make me smile so hope they do you too...

The first of our tulips has opened in the sunshine and I just love all the different colour of daffodils.

The other things I have to share with you this week are a couple of collages of funnies that have made me chuckle this week...

I hope you are having a great week and have lots of smiles to share with us all by linking up below.

WOYWW...

Hello all.  It's been another busy week for me but the sun has been shining and the bees are buzzing.  The birds are singing and the garden is full of beautiful Spring flowers...what's not to love?

I have a couple of photos to share with you today...

The quilt cover you saw on my desk last week has now been made into 2 Memory bears and a Memory cushion cover...Superman has never looked so good eh?

My next challenge was this Memory bear.  It is made from a tie dyed cushion cover that a young man made at school and there was just enough fabric to cut the 4 panels out.  It was quite a challenge and I had to turn my pattern pieces round several times to make them fit.

The last, but by no means least, photo I'm sharing with you today is this little bear Lulu designed and made herself.  I love that she is willing to have a go [we all started there] and love what she achieved.

I have another bridesmaid's dress fitting today and yet another coming tomorrow [for different weddings] so I will be kept busy but if you leave me a message so I know you've called by I will do my best to pop over to yours when I get a minute.

Hugs,

This week's smiles....week 464

Happy Friday to you all.  I always write this on the Thursday and this week the sun is shining and the birds are singing...that's a good start eh?  It's days like this that remind me while I love Spring.

I've been kept busy with sewing this week so that's another reason to smile.  I am happiest when I'm busy.  I have a few pics that have made me smile too...

It was Gina's baby shower party at the weekend and it was so lovely to see her surrounded by family and friends.  There were a few fun things scattered on the table and Gina took them home for Theo to play with and, as you can see, he thought they were funny.

Gina gave me these this week.  She has been making them while resting and they are an early Mother's day gift...they really made my heart sing.  It's so lovely thinking that it was only a few weeks back that she had never picked up a crochet hook before and she has made such a lovely job of each one of these different crocheted flowers...I love them.

The other things I have to share with you this week are a couple of collages of funnies that have made me chuckle...I hope none offend.
Please share your smiles below.

WOYWW....

Here we are at our Wednesday catch up with our friends around the world....we all 'show and tell' our desks and what we've been up to in the week.  Feel free to join in if you want....its a lot of fun each week.  Check out Julia's blog at Stamping Ground for more details.

Here's a few quick snaps of my week.....

Last weekend I was given bags full of yumminess from my sister-in-law, who no longer sews, and is emptying their old house to sell.  There was lots of fabric, buttons, lace, ribbons, trimmings, elastic, velcro etc and my desk is full of lots of it.....I am sorting it into bags to share it with the family.....It's all far too good to keep it all to myself.

On Sunday I received a bag full of special clothing with the request that I made 4 Memory bears so I started to make them Monday and finished them yesterday.

On Monday I received this quilt cover that belonged to a special young man who died far too young and I've been asked to make 2 Memory bears and a Memory cushion cover with it for family members.....this is what I will be busy with today and...

....this is the first of many bridesmaids dresses that I have to shorten for a wedding that is coming up in April...I fitted this one on Monday and I have appointments for at least 2 others all ready booked in [I'm just not sure how many there will be in total yet].

The first job I need to do this morning is to shorten a pair of trousers for a lady who is picking them up later so I'd better get a wiggle on eh?

I hope you've all had a good week.  If you leave me a little message so I know you've called in I will do my best to pop over to yours to see what you've all been up to ASAP.

Hugs,

This week's smiles....week 463

Another week has passed and as always I have lots to smile about to share with you all...

It's not the most flattering photo of me cos I'm in my nightie and have bed hair but it's so full of love that I love it.  This was taken at 6am on Tuesday morning just after we had done our Wordle.  Theo put his head on my shoulder and looked up into my eyes and said 'I love you Nanny'....magical.

This is Gina at 34 weeks....she looks a picture of health and as long as she rests lots she is fast approaching a time when they will be happy for her to have the baby....she's doing all the right things to 'cook' the little one for as long as she can.

I think Gina and Theo aren't the only ones to miss Mark while he's been working away.  Their Cockerpoo Maisie likes to cuddle him and looks up into his face with so much love.

I love this photo.

Our garden is now full of Spring flowers so I've taken a few pics and put them together into 2 collages to share with you...

...I love Spring with all it's new growth.  It makes my heart sing.

Finally here's a few funnies for you.

I hope you have found something to make you smile too and will now share your smiles by linking up below.

Hugs,

WOYWW...

Oh what a week's it's been here at Sewing by Annie's.  I posted last Wednesday with the honest intention to visit all my favourite blogs and leave comments but that wen't out the window when Theo walked into a picket fence on his way to school [he was fine but had to be monitored at home for the day] so came here so that Gina could rest and we could play with Theo.....That's when my plate spinning started and it really didn't stop all week.  I played catch up with my sewing and sadly my blogging had to wait.  My intentions are good again this week so let's hope I can actually get round a few blogs to see what you've all been up to.

I managed to
  • finish the little Memory dog I was making.
  • Repaired a jacket.
  • Steamed the wedding dress and two little flower girl dresses.
  • Shortened the two nurses dresses and....

.....made the six Memory bears.  Thesee were made in memory of a much loved Grandma and each family member had chosen their favourite item of clothing to have them made out of.....so special.

For those tthat like to know that has brought my number of Memory bears up to 545....that's a lot of Annie's love around the world isn't it?

There are perks to my job...on Friday I had a Slovakian body builder here for fittings on the shirt and waistcoat he wants to wear to his Wedding....because of his body building his shoulders and arms were very muscular [not that I was looking of course] so his shirt and waistcoat needed taking in at his waste. He stripped to the waist in my sewing room and smelt amazing....now now Jan!!  My darling hubby was here for my protection but it did finish my week off with a high :-)

This week's smiles....week 462

It's been a week full of good intentions but ended up a week of plate spinning...and not always managing to keep them spinning.  I wrote and posted a blog on Wednesday with the intentions of commenting on all my friends and, as yet, not managed to visit one sadly.  I'm pleased to report grandchild number 7 is still insitu as long as Gina rests as much as she can...and that's not easy when you have a 5 yr old....

...especially this one.  When walking to school on Wednesday morning he was so busy chatting that he walked into a picket fence and had to go back home to be monitored for the day....needless to say that meant Gina and Theo ended up spending most of the day with us so Gina could rest....I will add Theo was absolutly fine.  Hense I didn't get my sewing done and my plate spinning started. 3 o'clock we had to fetch the twins from school, tea them and take Lexi to her drama/dance group...but that's another story....Oh the life of the Grandparent eh?

I truly wouldn't have it any other way and sewing can always wait when the family needs us so I have been playing catch up all week.  Yesterday was my darling hubby's birthday so that also included visits from family members and I will be playing catch up again today with all the sewing jobs.....but it's so lovely to celebrate these special days especially when it included a lovely meal out last night.

This week was World book day so one day Theo wen't to school in his pyjamas  and he made a book in a box to take in with him and here is Stephen all dressed up for his special day.

The only other thing I have to share with you today is this collage of a few funnies I've found.

I hope your week has been a little less hectic but that you have had plenty to make you smile.  Please share them by linking u below if you can.
Hugs,

WOYWW...

Firstly I want to say that I'm certain we will all be sending lots of love to Julia and hopefully our love will help her through the difficult time she is going through.....I'm sure she knows that we are all there for her if she needs us.  I don't know if there will be a Mr Linky this week but that we will do our best to keep the wheels turning for her.

Normal service has returned for me this week and the steady flow of demands on my services has bounced back.

I made this Memory bear from a much loved mum's favourite jumper for one of her daughters.  When it was seen by her other daughter she wanted one for herself too so...

....I made this one using what was left of the mustard coloured jumper and part of a favourite cardigan.....I have a feeling there will be more orders coming for the grandchildren too.

I thought you'd like to see the quilt and cushion I made now in place in the nursery with the gorgeous matching wall art.

I stayed the night on Monday with Gina and Theo while Mark was working away [yes that of course included playing Wordle at 6am on Tuesday morning!.....but he had been awake since 5.30am lol].  It's so lovely to be able to help and to be included in the planning for the new arrival.

This morning I am steaming posh frocks...having already shortened two of the burgandy bridesmaid's dresses.

I will also be...

  •  Finishing off this little Memory Dog
  • Shortening two nurses dresses and
  • starting to make a further 6 Memory bears!!!
So as I say normal service has returned to Sewing by Annie's.....and I'm loving it.
Hugs,
Annie x
